I have owned and prefer to drive roadsters. Though I enjoyed the Boxster and the BMW Z car for their strong attributes, staying comfortably under the 35000 (if your talking dollars) mark would be best done in a powerful ragtp from Honda.
I own a 2002 S2000 that rocks. while the steering is not as tight as the Z car, the torque is greater than the Boxster. It is easy to get those rear wheels cranking, as the redline is 9000. That V-tech rocks around 6000-7000 rpms. It's a must have.
Mine is black with some minor upgrades. The only encouragement I would give when it comes to a stereo is take it to a specialty shop. The dash controls for the radio will only work if done right.

Mercedez Benz are very comfortable and easy to drive. I think some of them come around 35,000. BWM's are very nice too.
