It will stay green! It is an immature pumpkin!
It will NOT turn orange. All pumpkins spoil after a few weeks.

We had bought a couple green pumpkins for my daughter to carve for Halloween and we let them sit for a few days before we carved em; they got riper as they sat so no...i don't think they will rot.

set it on a window ledge..if it starts to turn, okk. If it rots, it was too young when picked.
