it is very common for the symptoms of a cold to change and progress......you need to see a dr is your fever is above 104F (40.5C), your throat is REALLY sore (more than 7/10 on a pain scale), your nose is running and its yellow or green, you are hacking up yellow or green mucous....etc.

if you can't afford multiple products, find a combo-product (there are TONS of them out there......) here are the ingredients you need to look for

sore throat, aches/pains, fever - acetaminophen
stuffy nose - psuedoephedrine

your nose may start to run.....so you may also want an antihistamine (chlortripolon or diphenhydramine)

dry cough - dextromethorphan
chest cough (we don't want to supress this type of cough...just loosen it) - guafenesin

of course....the traditional rest and fluids is also important. hope you feel better

If you have a sore and fever it means that you have either viral or bacterial infection. It is not just cold that makes you feel so. My first suggestion is: see a doc.

second suggestion is: go to a pharmacy and tell what u feel and ask for and anti-bacterial pill for your age..

Best medicine for a cold is no medicine at all, Medicine is bad for your body and should not be taken. Though if you have to, it would be Benalyn(spelling) All in one, if your not fond of Buckley's! Oh and drink 6 cups of water or more a day, and you will feel heck of a lot better when you wake up. :)
