You have no idea what 1500 watts of true power really is. You cannot listen to any music at that power level. Just to give you an idea, I have power meters on my home stereo. Most listening is done at an average power of 1 watt or less. 10 watts per channel average and you can't hear yourself think. Actually sitting in a car with the level cranked to use that kind of power, and, admittedly bass uses more, would make your ears bleed, and the vibrations from the sub would actually damage your car. People would have the thump in their living room way down the block. You don't need a sub that would absorb enough power to bake a pie. The only possible use for a sub like that is to rig a car for audio competition.

i have been dealing in car audio for about 10 years now and here are a few types of subs that can handle around what you are looking for but keep in mind the old saying you get what you pay for is so true when it involves car audio. the first is alpines type x swx1042d this is the only ten of the bunch but it handles 1000 rms and 3000 peak, the jl audio 33w7w7 is a nice 12 that handles 1000rms and 2000 peak the fosgate stage 2 dvc handles 1000 rms 2000 peak and the audiobahn immortal awis12p handles 2000 rms and 4000 peak. all of these are a bit pricey but they can handle the power they say they can without problems always try to go with subs with dual voice coils because when a sub blows it's the voice coil that fails hope this helps

I am going with jam 3079. I have a MOFO 15 and it is an ANIMAL! I only have 1016 watts going to it, but soon to have all 1500+. it weighs 52 LBS, the surround is as rugged as a car tire, and its a nice looking sub. Best of all...less than $200 on Ebay.

to procure 2 subs so as long as your new amp has 2 channels each sub would be getting 85watts which would be super. in any case rms is relatively the recomemded power putting, the 300watts is the peak which may be used for shorter cases
