How do we know that God did not create genes and similarities between organisms, only to be discovered by modern day (and not-so-modern day) people thousands of years later?

It wouldn't be a prank, more of a hoax, to see who remans faith and who doesn't.

of course God (or the energy that created the universe)
enabled it to develop just like it enabled the sun to grow wheat and give you life you will choose a partner to make baby's with and those genes will be different to other baby's
or do you think of god as an old man with a white beard still?

I suppose he could have. The point is, he doesn't need to have - we know of natural processes that create everything we see. If we have a natural explanation at hand, why look for a supernatural one?

Because Jesus said if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, the smallest of seeds which grows into a mighty tree (which it isn't and it doesn't...not even in Alaska) instead "If you have faith as small as an atom.."
