You will always love him. You will never love anyone the way that you loved him. I've noticed that everyone we love, we love in a different way or with a different intensity. Focus on your relationship and what you love about this man.

By resolving it somehow. Probably the most practical way is to fully imagine what your life would have been like if you were still with your ex. You'll probably come up with reasons you're glad you're out (extensions of the reasons you left him to begin with). Is it possible he left you and you have unresolved issues? Maybe new BF would role-play and help you get over it that way. Might be interesting. (I sympathize. I have been happily married 17 years and still I find myself now and then longing for a six-year GF I loved way before I met my wife. It's because we didn't complete our relationship, and I've got to live with that. I can't stop the feelings, but I don't have to act on them either.) Good luck.
