I have a friend who is militant about the subject. We were watching a TV show while I was at her house taking care of her while she was injured, and it was suggested on the show that a woman should go into a public restroom, rather than sit out in the open. Her comment was "how would you like to have your lunch in the bathroom?" I doubt the baby knows where it is, but it is germy in a public bathroom, but I see new Mom's haul the kid in there so that Mom can go to the bathroom, and exposing the kid to the germs, they use the toilet, flush it, then pick up the kid before washing their hands{not their fault the sink is outside the stall} so there really isn't a lot of difference. Her daughter just had twins, and was breast feeding.
In this age of child molesters, and sex perverts, I would be very careful about who I let see a bare breast, or a baby's nekked bottom. I would not want to think someone was "enjoying" these simple motherly acts a little too much.

I breastfed both of my children, and I have to tell you that although it is the most natural thing in the world, I hated the way everyone assumed I was a public show.
I tried to never breastfed openly in public. I tried to find a secluded area, ie... a dressing room, a private office, or a lot of places now have a "nursing room".
If I was going to go to a place that there was a possibility I would not have enough privacy, I would bring expressed milk in a bottle. Even so, sometimes I would find myself in a situation where I had to feed in public, but I always made sure I was covered up.
One time...I KID YOU NOT - A mother came up to me with her SON, lifted up my blanket and showed him my baby suckling, explaining to him the miracle of the female breast and what not.
I WAS MORTIFIED!!! I am a very private person and totally felt violated by this. You may say that I chose to breastfeed in public so I should accept these consequences, but I disagree. I will NOT let my babies go hungry - If I had no choice I would feed them in public. Just because I chose to breastfeed does not make me any less private.

I breastfed 3 babies and was always aware of when they were likely to need feeding and planned accordingly. There was usually a mother's room available within close vicinity if I got caught out. On a couple of occasions I needed to feed in a public area but I very much doubt anyone was aware it was happening, it can be done discreetly.
Yes, breastfeeding is natural, so is modesty. I never wanted to look up and find some stranger staring at me as I fed my children, and if I have the right to feed in public, does the public not have an equal right to stare??

I will breastfeed in public anytime I feel like. If my breasts feel like they are going to explode then I am going to feed my child by placing a nursing blanket over my chest and my baby. If there is a mother's room then by all means I am going to use it. If there isn't I am going to feed right then and there. No way I am going to the bathroom and stand in there while people are defecating or urinating. How disgusting when my child is eating!
if you don't like what someone is doing in a PUBLIC place LEAVE. No one is forcing you to watch nor are you paying anyone to move. Stop being conceited and think of others in other situations.
*refuses to watch the video*
I'd also like to not that it is okay to see half naked people at the beach but in your eyes it would probably be wrong to breastfeed there too. The same body parts are being seen just in a different mind set. How about you stay home away from us moms and dads so we can raise our families without people like you staring at us for doing what is right!!

I don't care if a woman breast feeds in public, the baby has to eat. On the other hand if a woman is going to do it at the table then it makes it okay for me to watch and get a free boob show. I think they should go in the bathroom, or in a hallway or in their car for privacy. I also believe it is never okay to change a diaper at the table and I promise you it is against health code regulations.

I was able to breast feed in public without people even knowing I was doing it. Flopping out a breast is not needed. It can be done subtly and without offending others.
I do object to changing a baby in public though.

I think it can not call rude, you have a baby your all firsts go for it,but I am looking at this window:there are a lot pervert people, this act may come sexy to these kind of people, and moms are holy,I never want that a pervert look moms.
I think there must be special rooms at everywhere for feeding your babe.
But changing baby's nappy near the people is rude I think, you can do this in the toilet.

Personally I would feel uncomfortable about whipping it out in public and plugging my kids mouth with it. However natural, I would probably retire to the restroom or my vehicle for this, blanket or no blanket to cover it.
I am no prude, but I find breast feeding a very personal matter and would not want the world watching.
I agree with you completely.
I also want to add that this is completely a womans choice, but it seems there is always some pervert watching who will stare the entire time, and I would rather not share my experience with no one other than my baby, and perhaps those i care about.

Actually, I thought it was rude and immature to video. No one forces anyone to look, let alone videotape something.
Breasts and breastfeeding are normal and natural. Maybe you should stay home 'til your grown up enough to handle reality.
Edited:(after 3 thumbs up)
It's interesting that when you think of "natural" you come up with something that is personally and publicly unhygienic, like pissing on the sidewalk. That may be natural for you, but even my dog knows better.
