I thought i liked him, so i led him on, now he is being really clingy and we are technically 'going out' but i don't want to anymore. What is the best way to 'break up' without hurting him too much?

Just tell him you don't like clingy guys and it's over. Then leave him alone.

what ever you do when you let him down don't do it in public or where thier lots of people his friend or your friends that will mess him up and completely humiliate him (you say you don't want to hurt him)... go to a quiet place just the 2 of you.this way it won't hurt as much...and don't tell anyone keep it between you two....

any girl that lets a guy down there is no easy way to do it. They are going to be offended reguardless what you say. Just assure him that yall are better off as friends. I know that sounds typical but its the truth.

Be honest and tell him your feelings, tell him you prefer to just stay friends meaning you still like him to talk with but it wasn't more than that...if hes mature and a good guy he'll understand and be grateful he can still be your friend

If you say you want to get out of this, why are you so afraid of "hurting" him? There's no way to reject someone without him/her feeling hurt.

stop calling and stop hanging out with him. just dont hurt him too badly that he will start bothering us with a "my girlfriend is not interested in me anymore...." question here at Yahoo Answers!
