Music is poetry with sound. I listen to all sorts of music (both my parents were musicians). Well, I like Vivaldi, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Big Band Music, the Beatles, the Doors, the Stones, the Who, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Smash Mouth, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Brian Setzer, Sheryl Crow, and too many others to name. I think I enjoy music so much because I was exposed to a huge variety of it while I was growing up. This may sound corny, but if I'm down and hear a song I really like, it lifts my mood. Listening to Bach and Mozart seems to make me think more clearly. Also, I just generally like it.

What is music:
Practically any sound vibration produced by humans for the purpose of enjoyment by other humans, with the exception of the spoken word.
I listen to:
Jazz - particularly pianists such as Bill Evans, Fred Hersch and Keith Jarrett, guitarists such as John Scofield, Pat Metheny and Bill Frisell. I listen to classical music - primarily Copland, Shostakovich, Bruckner, Chopin, Schoenberg, Beethoven, and above all, Bach. I listen to country - Willy Nelson mostly. I also listen to Radiohead, David Bowie and the Beatles. Ummm...pretty much anything that's awesome.
I like music because: this is the hard one. It can make me feel great. It has the power to sharpen whatever emotions I'm feeling, and I feel that great music deepens my understanding of myself and life in general, in an abstract but very real way.

I love music. I mostly listen to traditional world music, from all over. I think that music is more soulful and authentic. I like certain types of religious music, especially classical Hindu music.
The reason I love Hindu music so much is because it has a very strong sound of devotion. It really conjures up in me feelings of devotion and compassion, and it calms me. Even if I don't understand the words, it does that.
Music can take you to another plane.

Music is an international language. I overheard a song in a language I didn't understand and something about the way she sounded when she sang it, something about the instruments together with her voice. I found myself with tears in my eyes. It touched my heart.Sevara Nazarkhan is the name of the musician. Music is art, music works in the same way that Picasso did when he turned the lie into the truth in his paintings. I love all music. I listen to all sorts of it. If I don't i'm afraid i'm missing out on something. I love music because it trancends time. A gift from God.

Good music to me is music that lifts my spirit. I enjoy listening to praise and worship music. Using the time to connect with God and grow spiritually. I also use music to help me relax and feel at peace.
I would have a hard time living without music...I can do without t.v and many things, but DON'T take away my music!

Music is a certain combination of sounds mixed together in order to achieve a specific sound. I just so happen to like all music with no exceptions. Music is related to emotions, our brain makes this possible by relating a combination of the lyrics, sounds, current emotion, personal experiances, and intensity. I enjoy music for a lot of reasons: to encourage my current state of emotion or to oppose it, respect for the ability to create something take effects your state of mind, being able to relate to the lyrics or sound, the rythme, the ablility to express my emotion through dance, to encourage the "coming together" of people without discrimination etc...

I've been meaning to ask that too. I like a wide variety of music. My favorite is 80's pop and rock. But there are songs in Reggae, rap, classical, Big band, hard rock, grunge, folk, jazz, and even country music that I find have merit.
