I tell my b/f all the time he's good looking, but he won't ever return the favor even when I say I feel ugly... Other people tell me I'm really pretty... Why is this?

guys aren't like girls. when our friends say, "my hair is so gross" or "i look fat in these pants" or "i feel ugly" our first response is to say, "no way". but, guys aren't wired like that. saying that you feel ugly puts him on the defensive. he is now forced to disagree with you. and you're in a bad mood. the best thing (in his mind) is to stay quiet.
i don't know what you look like. maybe you don't have the 1.618 ratio going on...but he thinks you're attractive. that's why he's attracted to you. so, put on a smile (because everyone looks better with a smile) and relax. it's in the eye of the beholder. :)

Do not tell a guy that he is good looking or handsome , maybe once in a year but not all the time.That is why he does not tell you the same thing because he really feels he is prettier than you.That is your own mistake.Do not continue it and you will see how fast he will change. Guys need to feel that you are better what appearance means but they are more powerful and more intelligent maybe, and supporting, but do not tell a guy he is pretty or whatever. That is not good.

Well, first of all, think this, Men are different that women, really... it's a cliche for a reason.
Men dont get sutil things... You have to be straight with them.
Sometimes I try to dress up a bit, and try my bf to notice, but he usually says nothing, but, later, or another day, he comes and tells me "dress up like the other day when u looked so nice". So that leads me to the conclusion that men think that you know what they think simply because they tought it.
Tell him that you like being treated good, and be told stuff like that, then he will start saying things. but dont think it will be overnight, it will take a few weeks of telling him that to actually begin doing it without you telling him.
Anyway, what's important is what you think of you, not even what your bf thinks of you, because first he's with u for a reason, (many actually) and if he didnt think you were pretty he wouldnt be with you, and dont depend on what other people tell of you, you are you and dont need anyone to tell you who you are.
Dont depend on people, and try to understand men's mind... What i do, is that i talk to my male friends (bf are no good for explaining these things to you, because they dont wanna fight and hurt your feelings) about other women, and ask them how they feel, why dont men do this and that, that's it.

why don't you ask him? if you feel pretty then you are, screw the rest. i don't believe in beating around the bush, if you have a question then just ask. plus guys hate hearing about their girls feeling ugly, people are attracted to people with self-confidence

There is two choice.One he does'nt like you (he is with you for other things like your money or just for your body).Second he can't say(try to ask his other friends this case).

guys like girls who are confident with who they are.
dont ask your guy if your pretty bc then he might think your some desprate sicko.
just be happy with who you are and if you think your pretty then your pretty. it doesnt matter what anyone else thinks but you
