Sounds like a wise statement. I am striving to be such.

I disagree. To consider the effect on others of your actions is not a complete definition of maturity. I might care about others' feelings constantly, but my lack of confidence and difficulty with physical contact render me far from Grown Up just yet.

That is part of growing up but not everything. Growing up is more learning to be responsible for your actions.
Your definition is learning to be compassiate and unselfish. Some people grow up ( not just grow Old) and still are a little selfish.

charachter is what you do when no one is looking
what is grown up, i look to the psychologist definition, of a person who is able to take care of themselves,
this is bogus,
we need people,
no man is an island
we are all children, we all need people, and love, and affection,

I agree and I have been working on it.
Some days I do pretty good.
Other days I embarrass myself I do so poorly.

I disagree. Growing up happens to everyone, regardless of whether they think of others or not.
