For the past two weeks, when watching the local news ALL you will see in this area are two congressional hopefuls "killing" each other with "immigration crap". He said this or he didn't do this, he's too liberal....he's money hungry.

I am so fascinated with the new commercial they air.....I could actually give a crap about the things that are important in their campaign (education, healthcare, VA benefits, etc.). \

I have always felt that this "immigration crisis" is a smoke screenscreen. I feel this barage of idiotic "he said and he didn't" immigration commercials kinda sums it up. Do any of you feel this way? OR do any of you feel that these commercials have "opened peoples eyes" to the issues?

I hear you loud and clear. All of a sudden all of the local elections are harping on the illegal immigration issue when neither candidate has ever said anyting publically before...gee...is this the "fad" issue of the moment and will it all disappear in December?? I think it will be just a puff of smoke after elections.

Illegal immigration has been obliterated by the issue of school violence. We actually have some idiot who's running for state superintendent of education that wants to give students bullet proof books that can be used as shields in the event of an attack. The guy has been on TV shooting text books with various weapons to demonstrate how bullets just go right through standard text books. Forget about illegal immigration and school violence. What about the issue of nutcases running for office?

I will say this. "The trouble with government as it is," "is that it doesn't represent the people. It controls them. All they seem to want to do - the people who run the country - is keep themselves in power and stop us knowing what's going on. The motto seems to be: 'Keep the people happy with a few (cigarettes) and beer and they won't ask any questions.' I always wondered what it was about politics and government that was wrong.
I'm not saying politicians are all terrible men. It's just the system of government that I don't like. It's been going on for hundreds of years and it'll be hard to change. I'm not an anarchist and I don't want to appear to be one. But it would be good if more people started realizing the difference between political propaganda and the truth. The only possible reason they have had so many TV election broadcasts is because they've got to force the public to watch them. Otherwise, people couldn't care less - because at the back of their minds most thinking people know there's something wrong with the present form of government.

We're being conned into thinking everything's okay, but all these bloody politicians seem the same to me. All they can talk about is the economy and that - what about people, and freedom? These things that matter more don't seem to worry them."
There's nothing you can do about it - it's too big. What I would really like to see is people generally getting more say in what goes on. From what you hear, none of the politicians has any intention of giving ordinary people complete freedom. Just keep them down -that's all they really want. I'm not suggesting I know what the answer is - I just know there's something wrong with the present way of governing the country, and the more people like us realize it, at least we are on the way to changing it. What I don't like is this bit - politicians are politicians because they genuinely want to do the people good. They're politicians because they want power.
I'm bored by politics because the three of them Bush -Chaney - Rove all seem the same to me. They know all the tricks. It's a drag, but I can't see the way out."

Tancredo replaced into not in any respect truly a severe candidate. each and every thing he suggested replaced into truly 'accessible' to get interest from the clicking. The unlawful immigrant project is a phony project. i do not advise this is no longer a authentic subject, notwithstanding the way particular Republicans communicate about it, they use it in difficulty-free words as a distractive project, to shop from speaking about subject matters that are not really basic for them to communicate about. it is a topic they could be able to construct as a lot as sound worse than it is, and they could be able to signify easy-sounding suggestions that they comprehend received't paintings, like construction a wall alongside the border. in truth the authentic suggestions to the project might want to be extra complicated than they could clarify in the 15 seconds they are given to respond to the question. Politicians do not even opt to -talk- subject matters that would want to't be responded in 15 seconds. in element of truth, -both- activities LOVE unlawful immigrants. Democrats love them because newly-naturalized voters very nearly continually vote Democratic, like 95% of them. Republicans love them because they paintings low priced and a pool of waiting immigrant labor keeps down wages for -all- operating human beings

If the candidates are "killing" each other with "immigration crap", it is because they believe the voters care about it. They may be wrong, they may be right. They certainly have spent money figuring out what the voters are interested in and have decided based on that investment that "immigration crap" may be it in your district/state. That's what democracy is about. If enough people are interested in what you believe to be "crap", their candidate will win. You may be right that it is "crap", but democracy is not about forcing good taste on everyone it is about the majority having thier voice heard, good or bad.

I am 100 percent against people coming to this country illegally.
But I also think that you have touched on a very good point.
Advertisers are really raking it in when these hot topics are aired...I wonder how much advertising during an illegal debate is sold for versus....a debate for VA benefits...or social security...
good point!
