when you eat, your brain releases dopamine and other chemicals that make you feel good. sometimes, we get addicted to that, and attatch too strong a feeling to it, and it gets harder to let that go b/c....it IS so good. but what do you feel is right? i know it's hard to look ''down the road'' when it's right there in front of you. i think the ''feeling good'' while eating deal is reinforced by classical conditioning. you feel good when you eat b/c of the chemicals your brain makes. so you associate feeling good with eating. rough day? feeling a little down? eating always made you feel good before. i know just how you feel. but it will ruin you if you let it get out of control. i had to view my problem like it was a big huge monster, threatening my life. i learned that unless i saw it as something really bad, i'd never take it serious enough to really launch a successful attack against it.

I may be able to help with something you said
For some people food becomes there sex.
You've got to make something else your sex.carry things on you that you really love but that won't hurt you.Like maybe an apple
beef jerky sunflower seeds flavored or pumpkin seeds or nuts.So if your tempted to eat something you shouldn't you can trade of for something that will hold you over longer.Drink protein shakes in the morning .Whole made ones are better.I put natural peanut butter or almond butter in mine.Eat A sour pickle before you binge. It will kill the apatite.Plus very cold water will hold you over for a half an hour.

i completly understand what you are saying. I am glad that i am not the only one who goes through this. it's like if you eat the cookie then why bother excercising, but then again if you exercise a little harder it won't hurt anything to eat another cookie.
I say excercise and still enjoy the food in moderation. something ( excercise)is better than nothing. it is so hard especialy if you have to cook dinner for a family everynight.
the excercise will help some and maybe you will shape up a little and it will give you the boost you need.
About every three months I start a new excercise program and about 2 weeks later I am back to normal. it really makes me mad because my daughter is 21 and only weighs 98lbs. she doesn't excercise or eat healthy. she is my kid, if had those genes in me to give to her then why aren't they working for me.
i go back and forth with my weight but not enough to have to buy new clothes.
i wish you luck on the excercise.

You speak my heart. I always said never mind eat now so as not to regret , I'll start on diet tomorrow . The problem is, my tomorrow never comes.
You know something , some people are gifted with food , no matter how much , they still enjoy it . There is no way you can straight away slim down or cut off your food.
Be honest with yourself , for me , I know I can not resist food , especially ice-cream , cookies, snacks, chocolate, why make our life so miserable ? enjoy .
Discipline ? determined ? no , no , no, they do not apply to us.
but then , there is still hope.
Try this , reduce your food intake over a period by reducing it bit by bit a day, at the same time increase your gym time bit by bit a day . This is more practical , realistic and logical . Romans was not built in one day , so are our future slim body we desire to have. Good luck.

I can definetely relate. I was overweight for most of my life, and after getting in shape, it's still a struggle. The person above me who said it's an addiction is absolutely correct. And the longer is goes, the worse it gets. Whereas before you might get through a week of dieting before falling off the wagon, all of a sudden it's three different shades of impossible just to get through ONE DAY. I found my strength with a book called The Movie Star Diet. Others find their strength elsewhere. Most of all, you have to just get through that first couple of weeks. One difficult day at a time. After that, it really is smooth sailing for the most part.

ive never been overweight, but my closest friend struggled for 3 years until she dropped like 165 lbs by modivating herself and dieting and exercising. She went to weight watchers and Curves, it took her a long time to stop eating junk food, and she eventually even stopped craving it altoghether and now shes pretty thin, but now she eats what she wants but still exercises enough to not gain anymore weight. If you are seriously overweight you may want to try gastric bypass if other things like diet and exercise dont help.

I have discovered something that changed my life and my health. It's not a "diet plan" because you don't skip meals, you can still eat normal foods. This plan is simply "added" to your current daily routine. I have lost 17 pounds and 2" in my waist in 21 days without skipping meals and without exercise. Check it out it really works www.newlifestyletoday.org Pastor J ~ Texas

I can. I know i need to lose weight and i want to , but i will say okay im gonna exercise tongiht, but in the meantime, im gonna eat soem ice cream. So its just like why even bother?? But i dunno, its so hard to get motivated to get up and do it. A good way to motivate yourself: take naked pics and look at them...not just your front, get someone tot ake pics of you all the way around, and you will be like "Thats what i look like???"
