I fear a painful death. I fear looseing my looks as I age. I fear taking a drastic step to live an authentic life.
To conquer these I use my mind to reason with, and be creative with. And, my heart to keep me going until those fears present themselves for me to face.

I don't know that I've ever had to conquer a fear. If I have to do something, and I am afraid, the need to do it outweighs the fear, so I do it anyway.
I am terrified of skunks. I hope to stay that way.

I fear throwing up. Honestly, it's one of my biggest fears. I can't conquer it, or at least haven't figured out a way to do so yet. I think it borders on paranoia to tell you the truth.
I'm also afraid of death (a painful death especially) and it gives me a whole different petrified feeling than does the idea of vomitting. The concept of "me" ending isn't something I can conceive of and it scares the hell out of me just thinking about it. I usually have to force myself to stop thinking about it or I'll panic.
I'm afraid of my son dying. I nearly had a panic attack the other night when I went to get him out of his port-a-crib. It didn't look like he was breathing and he didn't respond to my voice (which he always does even if he's in a deep sleep). A feeling of dread like I'd never experienced took hold of me and for a moment I felt what it must be like to be out of ones mind.
Honestly I have no idea how to overcome any of those fears.

I fear leaving this life before my sons are grown. I conquer that fear by trusting that God will take care of all of us.
Welcome to the party! Have fun I have to go to work. Yuch!

Being alone - I just live with it. I'm an only child and lost my parents when I was 8 and 15. I have never been more terrified or alone. Now, I am M U C H older and fear losing my husband or children.
And like I said, I just live with it because I know it could happen, so I pray it doesn't.

I fear not being able to meet my goals for a career. To conquer it, well, I haven't figured that out!

I have a fear of heights. Several summers ago I climbed a couple of cliffs in New Mexico. Now, I'm not afraid of climbing up natural things, but I still have problems with ladders.
