what is a terrorist?

armys kill inocents. armys destroy. army rape. army torture.......
please specify....its not making much sence....is it the new word for enemy?

southron is close, one man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter. we as americans consider our troops to be freedom fighters, while many iraqi's see us as terrorists. a terrorist, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder, yet the most common definitions of terrorists would be based strongly on the extreme means of attacking, i.e. suicider bombers who keep citizens afraid of going about their day to day activities.
