Very good reasoning! I found an article that may interest you.
"Why True Christians Do Not Use the Cross in Worship"
THE cross is loved and respected by millions of people. The Encyclopædia Britannica calls the cross "the principal symbol of the Christian religion." Nevertheless, true Christians DO NOT use the cross in worship. Why not?
An important reason is that Jesus Christ did not die on a cross. The Greek word generally translated "cross" is stau·ros´. It basically means "an upright pale or stake." The Companion Bible points out: "[Stau·ros´] never means two pieces of timber placed across one another at any angle . . . There is nothing in the Greek of the [New Testament] even to imply two pieces of timber."
In several texts, Bible writers use another word for the instrument of Jesus' death. It is the Greek word xy´lon. (Acts 5:30; 10:39; 13:29; Galatians 3:13; 1 Peter 2:24) This word simply means "timber" or "a stick, club, or tree."
Explaining why a simple stake was often used for executions, the book Das Kreuz und die Kreuzigung (The Cross and the Crucifixion), by Hermann Fulda, states: "Trees were not everywhere available at the places chosen for public execution. So a simple beam was sunk into the ground. On this the outlaws, with hands raised upward and often also with their feet, were bound or nailed."
The most convincing proof of all, however, comes from God's Word. The apostle Paul says: "Christ by purchase released us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse instead of us, because it is written: 'Accursed is every man hanged upon a stake ["a tree," King James Version].'" (Galatians 3:13) Here Paul quotes Deuteronomy 21:22, 23, which clearly refers to a stake, not a cross. Since such a means of execution made the person "a curse," it would not be proper for Christians to decorate their homes with images of Christ impaled.
There is no evidence that for the first 300 years after Christ's death, those claiming to be Christians used the cross in worship. In the fourth century, however, pagan Emperor Constantine became a convert to apostate Christianity and promoted the cross as its symbol. Whatever Constantine's motives, the cross had nothing to do with Jesus Christ. The cross is, in fact, pagan in origin. The New Catholic Encyclopedia admits: "The cross is found in both pre-Christian and non-Christian cultures." Various other authorities have linked the cross with nature worship and pagan sex rites.
Why, then, was this pagan symbol promoted? Apparently, to make it easier for pagans to accept "Christianity." Nevertheless, devotion to any pagan symbol is clearly condemned by the Bible. (2 Corinthians 6:14-18) The Scriptures also forbid all forms of idolatry. (Exodus 20:4, 5; 1 Corinthians 10:14) With very good reason, therefore, true Christians do not use the cross in worship

well theres many reason why people wear crosses - for a start, christians will only wear a cross, and wont wear a crucifix as jesus rose from the dead, so there fore is no longer crucified/or dead - but lives and was ressurected, the other reason christians wont wear crucifixes is because theyre used in witchcraft. Some religious cults such as Jehovah witnesses (readers of the watchtower) - religion started by a 14 year old boy, wont wear a cross at all as they believe its idolitary. Ive never seen a morman wear a cross or anything identifiable - other than a badge sayin 'ELDER - followed by their name'. Madaoona years ago wore a huge amount of crosses as a fashion statement, marilyn mansun wears crosses - but openly mocks jesus/God. Some christians wear it as an open expresssion of their faith -kind of the same idea of muslims wearing their veils. The goths wear them as its a 'goth thing' - but there can be occult practises going on it that. So are you offended by the cross - he died for you.

yes some wear it for fashion.
to believers the cross with Jesus still nailed to it . Is a mostly Catholic symbol of the pain and suffering Jesus went through.
the empty cross is a sign of his triumph over death.
No the Romans only carried out the wishes of the Rabbis and the so called majority of the people that attended the trial.and chose Barabbas to save him from the same fate.
Why do you wear a belt buckle with designs on it.same diffeence.

Some were a "crucifix", an image of Jesus on the Cross. Not quite sure why they do that; maybe as a reminder of the Sacrifice Christ made on the Cross.
Some wear a Cross (gold, silver, other metal, or wood, etc.) as a way of identifying themselves as Christians, as followers of He Who died on the Cross, died for them. Some prefer to wear a "fish" or "icthyus" symbol. It is based on the Greek word for "fish": The letters of the green word spell out the phrase "Jesus Christ, God's Son, Saviour". So it is a proclamation of their faith.
And then, of course, likely there are some that just see it as a nice piece of jewellry or some maybe think of it as a superstitious "good luck" item.

Speaking for myself and maybe many others I wear the cross because as I read the Bible, and learn that Jesus died on the cross for my sins, It's a reminder and also a priveledgeto wear it. I don't know your beliefs, so all I can say is I'll keep you up in prayer and maybe one day you too will wear a cross with much pride God Bless

not only are they wearing a weopon to remember Jesus, they are wearing the wrong weapon. the greek manuscripts use the words stauros and xylem. these are commonly translated as cross or crusifix. an accurate translation of stauros means pole stake or tree, the translation of xylem refers to a tree. neither mention two pieces crossed over, or refer to a cross at all. Jesus did not die on a cross, but a torture stake. that basic truth undermines the whole symbolism of nearly all Christianity. if you wish to find a bible which uses acurate translations, look no further than the new world translation of the holy scriptures, used by Jehovah's witnesses

When you and your gf get married, what do you think symbolizes the ring you will be wearing? I hope not for fashion! lol!
like your gf having relationship with you and wearing a cross WITHOUT THINKING is same!
better find yourselves a support group for enlightenment. Connecting fashion into symbol of respect and faith is something alarming.
I think you & your gf are lost, why dont you help each other first
so you both learn to respect.

They wear crosses around there neck to remind them that Jesus gave his life for all of our sins. As long as your not praying to a false icon but to god through Jesus then there really is nothing wrong with wearing a cross.
