that's a good question. i used to wonder that as well. i also used to give the 'moderate' muslims the benefit of the doubt---maybe they were just afraid of the extremist factions of islam. once the radical islamists start shooting i don't think they care who they kill---Jew, Gentile or brother Muslim.
but anymore--i don't think that's the case. if that WAS the case we'd be hearing more of an outcry against radical muslims. but all you EVER hear is the same tired old "pity poor muslims--everyone hates us".
then you get goofballs like that muslim in florida who wanted to appear for her driver's license photo fully veiled and covered from head to foot. what the hell is a matter with these people? driving isn't a right, its a priviledge. if the goofy muslim didn't want to uncover her face for the driver's license photo she doesn't get a driver's license---NEXT IN LINE, please!
the muslims just show this irresistible urge to buck every western idea of law and order and even decency that there is. i can't figure them out.

I am pretty sure there are Muslims living all around the world, so the "Non-Muslim parts of the world" remark isn't totally relevant. There have been many cases since 9/11 and even way before where some of the wanted terrorists were captured. But as they are capturing these terrorists, the number of the total terrorists around the world are probably doubling. So you're getting back to the start. Terrorism is a big issue in the world, and it always has been. Do not blame Muslim nations that they aren't doing anything. This is not only that region's problem. It's the world'd problem. They don't only bomb Western nations, but also places like Turkey, Egypt and Indonesia where majority of the population is Muslim. What people need to realize that terrorism doesn't know any color, religion or anything for that matter. Like in September 11, do you think all of those innocent people who died were all from one color, religion or class? No. There are things being done against terrorism everywhere in the world, it's important to come together as a human race and fight against it together.

They don't stand against the Islamic Fascists because they agree with them,Islam is a violent repressive religion that has always been spread by the sword. Hopefully more people will come to understand that before we have to have all out war with them. And then we can also deal with all the US traitor converts. Perhaps they should be sent to an Islamic country to live with their own kind if repressions what they want.

This is probably one of the most perplexing questions asked on Yahoo Answers. I now have come to believe that all the vitriolic abuse heaped on Muslims is only fanning the fires of hatred many of them feel for non-musliims. If we look at the consequenses of our involvement in Iraq, as well as most of the rest of the region, we will admit (if we are honest) that our policies there have failed. I suspect that a lot of the non-violent muslims may in fact derive some feelings of satisfaction from the terrorists attacks on the West. The thing I don't understand is all the blood-letting going on between Muslims themselves.
All I really know is that if we had not invaded Iraq 3,000 plus young American soldiers would still be alive, as well as tens of thousands of Iraqies. Saddam would die soon of old age and life for the rest of us would go on. But now, because of our actions the various factions in that poor country have become even more polarized and the violence continues unabated. So, what is the answer?
Lets find the courage to admit we made a mistake and get our kids the hell out of there! The people of Iraq have to decide their own fate. Their oil is not so important to sacrifice the lives of so many people.
At some point in our development as a nation we are going to have to come to the realization that we only get in trouble when we interfere in the internal affairs of another nation. We were correct in attacking Afganistan because the terrorists were supported directly by the government of that country. But Iraq? The reasons for going to war there as given by the President were bogus. And we need to get out before many more of our youngsters are slaughtered needlessly.

Isn't that the same thing as starting a war? Muslims are non-violent people. Those fascists are using the religion as an excuse to make a political statement especially towards the US. Do you agree with President's Bush decision to go to war with Iraq? He was only making the fascists there more angry and they've done lots of stupid things to make their statement.
It was never about religion but all about politics!

And who tod you we don't?
I'm happy with Jewish girl's answer as it is rare to meet Jews who are tolerant this much toward Islam these days..now what is your source? the governmental media? CNN, Fox news, CBS, NBC and so on? They only make you see what they want you to see..switch to Al Jazeera..yes the one showing Bin Laden's messages but it doesn't only do this but also brings people who discuss his messages and condemn them, Sheikh Yousuf Al Karadawi condemned them hundreds of times, all our political and religious leaders are against killing civilians and innocent people but they just don't show this in your media..Go to Islamic websites and forums and ask Muslims about their attitude. In Islamic countries all the members of Al Qaida are wanted for the police and courts. Our police is after them but they are hiding..what can we do more? See our TV shows and our movies and how they discuss this issue..Your problem is that you judge us without seeing things from a near view.

Because the dumb bastards secretly are happy to see America fail, probably thinking that they will inherit the USA since they are here already. I tell the couple of Arab friends that I have that the leadership of Islam in this country had better make their position clear before a dirty bomb goes off and the **** hits the fan and the Anglo Saxons kill them all.

I have to agree, I believe there should definately be far more Muslims actively protesting Islamic terrorism. I think this would definitely send a message to the world that most Islamic people are not terrorists, and they absolutely do not support the actions of those who are terrorists.

That's a good point. I've heard nothing substantial from the muslim community. I've even heard some 50% 'moderates' support terrorism!

I simply believe they condone what is happening, they will abide by what the Islamic law states in the Koran. No Muslim would dare go against the Koran, even if it meant they had to kill one of their own they would do it.
