I would say to her that her grandfather is very happy where he is and that she doesn't have to worry about him. He is with his mother and father and any other relatives that may have passed. That she will see him again. It is okay to miss him, but she should be happy for him.
Good luck!

I would explain that when people get old, they sometimes get into a lot of pain because there bodys are older, you grandfather was in this pain, his body but not his spirit, this is why he decided to leave his body and become a spirit, he is no longer in any pain and he can do all the things he has been wanting to do for some time now, you could also mention other relatives in the spirit world that he is now with, and by praying for him to come back would keep him from being happy, explain that he misses her dearly and he is watching over her even though she might not see him, then you could say that someday we will all be going where grandpop is and we could all live in peace without ever having to say goodbye again. LOL

Maybe the child is onto something. After all when Christ comes again grandfather will be resurrected.
Some children are born with that knowledge and as they grow older it sometimes slips away.

I would explain that he will come back to life because Jesus will bring him back to life when He comes back. Explain that grandfather is in heaven with Jesus, which also means that grandfather is with the child always, even though the child cannot see him.

Tell them the truth, Grandfather went to God, and even though he misses and still loves them he can't come back right now, but someday in the future they will be reunited.

Depending on the child's age, it's time to start introducing them to death.

Well I don't know how old the child is but perhaps you could tell the child that Grandpa is an Angel now, and he can't come back the way he used to be, but that as an Angel he will always look over and protect him/her.

tell your child that she will see her grandfather again in the new system of things (the original perfect state Adam & Eve lived in before they sinned). Read to her John 5:28,29 which talks about the coming resurrection.

I think you tell your child that love never dies. And while her grandfather may not be with her physically, he will always be alive within her heart and soul. There will be a time when God calls all us of us home...and when that happens, she will be reunited with her grandfather, but until then, as long as the love she has for him remains, his memory and love will always with her.

Help a child to pray for what she hopes will happen but also help her to add "but let Your will be done God". We all pray for things we think we want, but only God knows what is best, so we need to learn to add let your will be done, so we can accept and move on.

I would tell them that God has seen fit to take him away from his pain and ask they child would they wish him back to suffer or if they would rather he rest where God has sent him.We are Christians so we believe in the end we will see each other again.
