Or do they prefer only those who were actually born into the religion? I know anyone COULD convert if they wanted to, but are they really eager for new converts like Christians seem to be?

we accept converts, but we only want dedicated converts, and therefore we have traditions such as turning away a person three times before agreeing to convert them, to make sure they are truly sincere. in the past, converts claimed to love jews as their people and vowed to stand by us, but when things got really rough they abandoned us and went back to their old ways. also, jews don't believe that non-jews are "going to hell" so we don't feel morally obligated to convert others to judaism. because non-jews do not "go to hell" we consider it in many ways a greater kindness not to convert them, rather than convert them and give them the burden of 613 commandments that jews are obligated follow but non-jews are not. but if a person is sincere, and dedicated to G-d enough to truly want to practice the entirety of judaism, then they are welcomed.

For Muslims there is no difference between converts and born Muslims, converts some times are better because they converted after studying Islam thoroughly but some born Muslims don't know anything about Islam except being written in their ID!

I've seen Sheikhs or Imams who were ex-Christians..I even heard tapes for an ex-priest who was explaining the teachings of Islam and he became one of the great Imams in his last days..we are all brothers no difference between Arab, Pakistani, English or American but we are all believers.

For Jews I heard that they only accept hwo was born to a Jewish mother..may be I'm wrong.

I think Muslims are cool with converts. Jews are a little more picky, since there's the whole culture thing that goes along with being Jewish that you can't just pick up by studying the religion. It can take a couple years before you can become officially Jewish anyway.

Catholics do no longer compliment saints, they raise them up as examples of a Godly life lived on earth. the foremost distinction between the two is the life of the clergy as a mediator between the lay people and God interior the Catholic faith and the thought interior the Protestant faith that a lay individual can talk directly to God without the help of the priest or pope. additionally, there's a distinction interior the sacraments. Catholics have faith that the wine and wafer grow to be the actual blood and physique of christ, while protestants customarily have faith that they are symbolic.
