Psychological. They don't think it's important. They probably won't, until someone of the opposite sex they're trying to impress tells them they smell bad enough to knock a buzzard off a gut wagon.

Yes, many mental disorders can lead to this kind of behavior. Now, if the person seems somewhat normal, they could just have OCD. They could be obsessed with wearing the same clothes. A lady at my job wears the same pants everyday. I think she has multiple pairs of the pants, but she also wears a select few shirts. The strangest thing though is that she eats the same lunch everyday!! For the last four years she has been eating boiled hamburger and broccoli! It smells terrible! She has never eaten a single crumb of anything else, even when they had free lunch.

No with the bath, some people might have a fear of water, or not want to wash their bodies. It can and does happen.

I think it's caused by a lack of parenting, parental neglect at some point. I have a cousin who is in high school. She's a good kid, smart too, but she hates to shower and always wears the same clothes days in a row. She's carried head lice for as long as I can remember. Her mother, is pretty clean, as is their house, but the mom is on drugs and has men in and out, and has never really cared what her daughter does. I've tried to teach her hygiene, but it's like talking to a brick wall.

Well, there are some conditions where people are afraid of showering for some reason (like afraid the water will be blood, or acid, or that there are hidden cameras in the shower or some such).
But I don't think that's what you're talking about...

I think people with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)tend to do this. They are by nature perfectionists, and it takes them a LONG time to do anything that they consider important. So they put off those kinds of things until they can devote sufficient time to do them perfectly.
And they end up not doing those things at all.
