Yes he had a moment of doubt. He was entirely human. We humans do that.

i'm not so sure it was a moment of doubt as much as it was that John wanted and needed reassurance that Jesus was the Messiah---or should John and his followers look for another?

When John's followers passed John's question on to Jesus, Jesus didn't answer with a simple "Yes, I am the Messiah".

Instead he told John's followers to tell John what they had seen--

"Go and report to John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have the glad tiding preached to them."

These were ALL things that the Old Testament prophets, esp. Isaiah, had said the Messiah would do. I think John was satisfied with the answer, although I'm not really sure the Bible says whether he was or not.

John was a good man---I'm sure that many of us would have doubts in that prison cell as well.

Yes, he doubted. He had one of John the Baptist's disciples come to Jesus and ask if He was the messiah or should they look for another. A moment of doubt. Jesus after the fact said of John that he was among the greatest men and the prophets that ever lived. John's ministry lasted 6 months. Could you think of higher praise?

I believe John doubted because, he felt after doing all that he had done as the fore-runner of Jesus and now being in prison, at least Jesus should work a miracle or something and get him out. Jesus is out there healing and working miracles and I am in this terrible prison, why isn't Jesus doing something for me? Yes, so he doubted. I would have.

We are to Believe Jesus was born and that he died for our sins and yet Jehovah got sent him.....So Jehovah God gets the glory. John knew Jesus was greater than John but he also knew Jesus was God's son In the Lord's Prayer, Jesus addresses his father in heaven.

he sent his disciples to Jesus to ask if He was the Coming one or do we look for another. Jesus sent them back to john as to what they had seen Jesus do. doubt might not be the right question, john could have asked about Jesus because he could not see everything that He was doing ie miracles.

If you were Jesus' cousin, you just baptized him, and even the all powerful God showed up for the ceremony, but only a short time later you found yourself all alone and rotting in jail, with no one coming to your assistance, wouldn't you have second thoughts, too?

Absolutely not. Where did you get such balderdash, from one of the Anti-Gospels(or Gnostics)?
