Draw a smiley face on the back of your writing hand. Every time you take notes, you'll see that little grin beaming up at you! Find the kids who have the really major physical disabilities (the ones that have to be strapped into the wheelchairs and cannot speak) and say hi to them every day. Maybe even volunteer to help them out during your study hall (ask your guidance counsellor). They will smile at you and it makes you both feel so happy.
I suffered from depression a lot as a teen, and this helped me out a great deal more than you can imagine...

1. First of all don't automatically assume it is going to be a bad day. If you go to school with a good attitude, you will most likely have a good day.
2. Find a class you look forward too and just focus on making it to that class. For example, I have band 4th hour so I tell myself if I can make it through 3rd hour, my day will be downhill from there.
3. Find something you have going on later in the week or on the weekend and tell yourself everyday that it is only however many days until you get to do that thing. It will give you something to look forward to.
5. Try to find at least one person you are friends with in each class and tell yourself that you get to see this person next hour or only 2 more hours until I get to see this person.
6. If you don't have any homework so far, you can look forward to a nice quiet evening at home to do whatever you want.
Anyway, I hope this helps and I hope you are able to make it through your school year. I am in 9th grade myself and know what it is like. If you ever need more tips or just want to talk, e-mail at oboegirl91@sbcglobal.net. I would love to have an e-mail buddy. Best wishes!

add an additional "line " at the bottom of your daily agenda stating for ex. "tomorrow you will be doing an experiment called the acid/base balloon," give a brief (exciting) description at the end of class or whenever, regardless of how the class went that day, on their way out smile, and tell the kids to have a great safe evening, and to look forward to their "fun" lesson scheduled for next class!

well, my father took his life just 4 short months ago so i wake up every day knowing that i have the strength to live. i dont know how im doing it but i am...and, you will too. maybe you should seek some good books at barnes and nobles?? honestly, i found some really good books there. maybe you should get a journal and write some future things that you want to do like travel or going to places you've never visited around your home town...i think that what keeps me alive and living every day is knowing that i have a wonderful family. you should book yourself a massage and a manicure and pedicure...treat yourself to a YOU day because YOU deserve it!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm trying to figure this one out myself.
What I want to brighten my day is someone to really, really look forward to in school every day, but unfortunately, that doesn't happen.
This is a tough one to answer.

don't think about when a class will be over and don't look at the clock. it works for me. also, don't think about the bad stuff. also dont wear pjs to school cause it makes you fall asleep. try to be happy. the stuff you wear and how you think makes a big difference....the difference between a cup is half full and a cup is half empty.

My new admired song to get me stepping into the morning is Unwritten by way of Natasha Bedingfield. The message is optimal for commencing out an afternoon -- "right this moment is the place your e book starts, the rest remains unwritten", it somewhat is a sparkling start up!

You should vary your routine...don't do the same thing every day... if you get coffee, get something different like a mocha....wear something you wouldn't normally wear...make a new friend...do something you would be proud of or something that would get you recognized for your achievement

Just get involved and if you are taking a class with an unreasonable teacher joke about them with somebody that agrees with you.
