Depression is a Mental Illness, but Euphoria is also a sign of mental illness (Bipolar). The the world is really somewhere in between. Not as bad as you think, but much worse than the manics feel. So its all evens out in the long run. Trust me,

If you are right or wrong or niether if you have a problem, whether it's your fault or entirely someone elses, your the one with the problem so you can choose whether you deal with it or not!If you can justify beong depressed, thats fine but being depressed affects the way you treat other people so it's not about whether you are right or wrong but whether you can learn to deal with depression and actually do something about it, whoevers fault it may be.

i love your question :)
as a professional though i would say that since u are so open, embracing and accepting of your depression (this is what i understand from the question), u ve made it part of yourself, then this shows improvement :)

we are... but so are the optomists, it just depends on your outlook, on your mood, and on your current situation. did you know there's a whole bunch of famous smart people who were depressed? because there are plenty of truly horrible things in this world. it makes it hard to remember that there are also truly wonderful things. we have to try harder to remember that, but we can do it.
