I just took a pregnancy test, and it was positive (which I suspected). I still have to confirm it with a doctor, but I'm apprehensive about telling my boyfriend. I don't think he will be super-excited about the news. Any ideas on how/when I should tell him?

I know he'll deal with it, but I can understand how it could be frustrating, and stressful. If worse comes to worse and he leaves me, I'm prepared to raise the child on my own.

Tell him first. Just be calm about it, try not to make a huge deal out of it. If you are calm then maybe he will be too?

When i told my boyfried that i was pregnant he said he was dealing, then he kept bring up abortion, then 3 months later he had an anxiety attack and couldn't speak or move and had to go to the hospital by ambulance. 6 years and 3 kids later were getting married next october. I just bit the bullet and told him flat out that i was late. And then flat out : "the test was positive." My advice, tell him when he's in a good mood, not tired or anything. Who knows he may surprise you and be thrilled.

You shoudn't wait about this. Instead you should first tell your family and your boyfriend. maybe you can tell him u want to eat lunch with him one day at your house. I'm sure it would be best to do it as the plates are being cleared. Show them you want to take responsibility for your baby and if you really love your boyfriend and he really loves you he will also take his responsabilities up. Remember that this is both of yours responsablities.

You should just come out and tell him. Show him the test stick. Better to do it now than later. If he leaves you....get him for child support! Good luck!

Tell him. You obviously will not be able to hide it for long. If he doesn't want to deal with it be ready to deal with a baby on your own. You won't be alone. You have God. He would never hand you something that he does not think you are strong enough to handle.

now!
he exploded to happiness therefore he should exercise 360 degrees anticipation if he is man enough!
if not...dont insist girl...keep the baby & thank him for his sperm...it's ok to be emotional and cry out loud but you have to move on! Be proud because you have the capacity to bear a baby. You're a real woman!

Don't tell him until you see the doctor and they confirm it and then just gently break it to him, it is shocking news to some guys, some females to but it's best to just say it, don't beat around the bush but do it gently.

Tell him to get a job. When the next pregnancy comes around, tell him to get a better job.
