No way! A person has to take responsibility for the thing they eat. It is easier to place blame then fess up to there own problems. I never blamed the food industry for gaining weight, I was the one who couldn't fine the time to cook a healthy meal for myself or instead of grabbing the trail mix i grabbed the cupcakes. they didn't force me to do, I did it myself. My problem not there's, I take responsibility for my actions. Its time to stop blaming everyone else and start looking at who is really at fault. there are good foods out there, they just choose not to eat them.

Great question. It is one of the tough issues of life. In the end, people are responsible for their own choices. But the food industry contributes by excessive advertising of high fat foods. Of course, those are the foods which taste the best. Do we blame them? This is a free enterprise system and the food industry states they are just giving us what we want. Look at the Hardees Monster Burgers or whatever they call them. If no one bought them they would be gone from the menu overnight. Guess what, they are driving Hardees' bottom line. So the food industry can be called partially responsible, but everyone makes their own choices.

It's the personal choice of individuals to over eat and become obese. The food industry does not monitor or shell out portions for the consumers. Food has of course changed for a healthier lifestyle and yet people still choose to induldge in unhealthy choice making. Like the saying goes "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink".

Of course not. Today's foods are well labeled and there is a wide variety of choices available to the consumer. If the consumer has to blame anyone it is himself. Let's assume that a product was introduced that had 50% more calories than the competition. If that product didn't sell the manufacturer could not hold the shelf space in the market.

Each individual is responsible for his or her own eating choices. HOWEVER! The food industry does not help with their huge servings and the way they prepare food.

i dont think they are responsible, but i think they play there part. all the advertising..the more you see something the more you are likely to want it.
and of corse fast food has a responsiblity.. ..but they only set up what they know people will eat..cmon who goes to wendys or mcdonalds and gets the fruit cup?...
it would be nice if someone set up a chain vegan/vegetarian fast food restaurant

Yup. Just like the gun industry is responsible for shooting deaths. Just like the car industry for auto accidents. Just like tobacco industry is for lung cancer. Come on... get real.... please.
