I'm not a Christian, but I do respect the Christian faith. So I am going to give my input, because you are one of the only people who actually asks good questions anymore in this room!
I think we should strive to live perfectly, as much as we can. If we try, we will get closer to that goal than if we had not tried. I think that if we try to love others, the way that Christ did, we would be well on our ways to perfecting ourselves. If we have love as our underlying motivation, then all of our actions will begin to be better and better.

I think there is a righteousness inherited by salvation, and a righteousness that is a work in progress, it is the fruit of the salvation. So yes, we will strive to live perfectly, as we learn more and spend more time with Christ in quiet times, in His word, in prayer and listening to His spirit and yes, we are already made perfect by the giving of our lives to the Lordship of Christ.

I don't understand the "perfected in Love of Christ" notion. I can work the question with somekind of answer one or two ways, but I don't dare unless I know exactly the meaning of the question. Arf.

Debra...good question...
When God judges us, we will be covered by the blood and thus perfected only by the Love of Christ...you know as well as I its impossible to be perfect. But Thank God Jesus provided a way for our wretched souls!!

the spirit is willing but the flesh is week.
none are perfect no not one.
we can only strive to become that which the lord desires for us,
but as we try to improve daily we work toward the glory of god.

We are perfected by the Holy Ghost.
Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

We will never be perfect until we reach heaven, but through sanctification by the holy spirit we become a little better each day.

Yes, we are perfected in his love. Just as a father allows his children to make mistakes in order to grow up to be good people so does our Lord. He is proud of us when we do right. But he is also proud of us when we learn a lesson out of adversity.

no not by a longshot as least in the USA, its not a "well im not perfect" issue in the churches its really a......
"I go to church and sing songs and pray in church so i can try to get people to recongize me and say" - "wow that a great christian he is!" - or "man he is such a great theologian"
in other words they try to get attention and to make a image for oneself to gain approval from people, no different than any one average person....the problem is alot of people at church seem go genuine in their love but the problem is it just a mask you have to take the mask off to reveal the inner self.
some other things i see in churches that people dont think they have to repent from are these below. christians teaching agendas such as "drinking is a sin even thougth you dont get drunk" - also christians easy get agitated or debate easily and they dont repent from this, because they think that that just the way they are and cant change....also this one get me - some girls are allowed to wear mini skirts to sunday church so they can tease all the men in church and churches dont do anything about it or even repent because they think that just because americas thinking on the above examples is OK and not sin...the above stuff is also OK in churches too, and people chant "god bless america" and they somehow think that God now blesses certain few sins, well let also bless our trillion dollar national debt so our godly governement can spend much more. im sure that God does that alot in heaven and also God is filty rich and all his angels are dirt poor too, i guess that holy too.
you see we all have to repent from 100% of our sins, not 90% or 99.5% of our sins, and 0.5% is ok because america says it ok.....repentance is not that hard, churches just make it hard because they dont understand the fundamentals of christianity which is Grace. all repentance is to ask God for help in overcoming 100% of the sin and spending time with God and if you are born again and start spending time with God he will start healing you slowly of your 100% sin, but you have to be against the 100% first (or repentance)....it all Gods power that does this all we have to do is spend time with god.
