This is on my fingers, around my knuckles and nails. Starts as tiny little water blisters, then itches like crazy, then gets VERY dry, cracks and bleeds, skin gets hard, yellowish and flakey. And hurts. I get it very summer for the last 5-6 years but it's worse and worse every year (and harder to get rid of). Like now it's hard to type, hold things with that hand. A few years back my doc gave me a cortosteriod cream and that helped at the time but not now. Using that cream and hydrocortisone helps for a day or so but then it gets bad again.
Anyone know what this could be? What could bring me some relief until I get to the doc? I have put off going to the doc, but now I'm going to have to

Actually, sun tanning ! For guys or girls. Even though long exposure to the sun or UV rays can also be dangerous, it's known for helping with the break outs. Now do you have both eczema and psoriasis or just one of the two ? My cousin with psoriasis used to go tot he tanning salon (of course he didn't tell all his buds that). It seriously helped. Many times when he had a breakout, he'd lock himself up inside. That makes it worse ! No sunlight will make you break out more. Can lead to very bad depression. Don't let it get you down. Eczema can be treated also like severely bad dry skin. Moisturize ! There are many creams you can use over the counter. Prescribed may be better for bad cases. But you can try just a regular lotion such as Aveno or Vaseline Intensive Care. Of course every case is different. I'd get it clear which one of the two you have 1st. Good luck

I was diagnosed with psoriasis at age 14 and now I am 36 years old. You can say that I have tried just about every medicine both approved by FDA and trial without much success. Examples include Enbrel, Humira, oral meds, creams, oils, salts, coal tar, etc and the list is much more extensive that I can't even remember all of the names. But recently after someone shared this video https://tr.im/psoriasisTreatmentsMo9i everything has changed. My psoriasis completely cleared by putting these changes in place. I only wish I'd taken photos of before and after because it truly has been miraculous. I am getting married in Oct, 2015 and I am wearing a strapless gown that also shows my back and I am confident (not like before) that my skin will be soft and pretty vs red and flakey.

You probably have seasonal related contact dermatitis which means it is triggered by an allergen in summer when coming in contact with it. The fact that it is gets worse each summer confirms the same. The solution to the problem is to identify and then avoid the allergen, a difficult proposition considering numerous possibilities. Happens with the hands. So like working in the garden without gloves ? Best ask your self yourself those questions and you could narrow down the possibilities. It could be non-contact, like pollen related allergens which are more difficult to avoid. Corticosteroids are immunosuppressants and will therefore reduce the reaction. If they become infected then antibiotics. Better a dermatologist consult.

I totally get this too! I have researched it on the internet and have found that excema rosacea (sp?) dermatitis are all names for messed up skin. One web site said it is heat rash which may explain why it occurs in the summer. I had it on my skin and also on my face. My dermatologist prescribed Doxycycline, an antibiotic for its anti-inflammatory effects. It has helped but can affect the rbowels if you know what I mean. Go to your doctor quickly before you get a staph or strep infection in the cracks or your skin. At this point maybe even the ER for the antibiotic. I have heard that "cold laser" treatment works that chiropractors offer. Skin problems are also related to stress so try some meditation or other relaxation techniques.

Go see your derm. It might be dermatitis. Sounds like when I have. Ask for a prescription of Temovate or Elocon. It works wonders. And keep your hands moisturized. Try Cetaphil Therapeutic Hand Cream. Works wonders!! I've been doing this and it works for me....
