I am Catholic. I guess it's just the location of the church. We only have one large one here so we have blacks, hispanics, middle easterners, as well as whites. We don't think anything of it. I have been to other Catholic churches that were mostly all white, but I don't think it had anything to do with racisim, just where it was....not many other races around....

The church didn't decide on the NT books... the Holy Spirit did. The books regarded to be NT had been what nearly all of Christians of the early Church agreed had been influenced via God, even earlier than they had been canonized. The Church of Rome translated the scriptures into Latin, the Vulgate written via St. Jerome. The NT books had been copied from the Greek Septuagint, which remains to be utilized by the Eastern Orthodox at present. The apocryphal books from it had been regarded deuterocanonical via the Catholic church, and aren't within the normal Hebrew Tanach. The Protestant Bible follows the Hebrew scheme and does no longer comprise them. The Catholic church does have reality, however there also are a few mistakes in it is doctrines and traditions. The equal Holy Spirit that allows for believers to understand God's Word, even at present, additionally testifies to this reality and the mistakes. My, appear at all of the thumbs down... are not able to manage the reality? You may have your religion within the Church, protecting your faith, or you'll be able to think about our Lord Jesus Christ. Where does your allegiance belong? As Christians, our team spirit is in Christ, no longer the RCC. Let's uphold the creed and all Christians believers, selected of God and sealed via His Spirit. Nothing private, simply hoping a few men and women will consider approximately it.

I have never seen this in a Catholic Church. Most Catholic Churches I know have a wonderful rainbow of cultures.
There are actually more "non-white" Catholics than "white" Catholics in the world.
Racism is against the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church:
Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.
The equality of men rests essentially on their dignity as persons and the rights that flow from it:
Every form of social or cultural discrimination in fundamental personal rights on the grounds of sex, race, color, social conditions, language, or religion must be curbed and eradicated as incompatible with God's design.
With love in Christ.

In my own humble opinion, all organised religions are inherently sectarian.
It's the 'us & them' mentality.
People don't have to be of different colour: just a slight diffence in doctrine is enough to make some people start killing each other :|
I think the main problem is that many people who call themselves christians, don't actually follow the teachings of the Christ - they seem to prefer the fire & brimstone god of the old testament :(
btw, I am an athiest, but do have a genuine interest in theology - if that's not too weird

This is going to sound strange coming from a non-believer, but I never heard of a Catholic church that didn't accept blacks or Latinos. There are way too many Potestant denominations to give a general answer - some few have indeed excluded minorities.

You may not be aware, but most latinos are Catholic. How can they not be accepted into a Catholic Church if they belong to the Catholic Church?
It would be nice, though, if people who claim to be Christian would adhere to Christ's teachings. Unfortunately there are too many people out there who call themselfs Christian, yet hate others for no real reason.

Catholic means universal, with people from every race and color, all professing one creed in Jesus Christ.
I've never seen any discrimination of any kind in any Catholic church, anywhere in the world, except for not allowing non-Catholics to receive Holy Communion ... and that's simply a practical rule of faith.

I apologize for all of those catholics and protestants who behave like that. I am a Catholic convert, and I can tell you without doubt that the Church does not teach or condone racism or any behavior like it. God loves all people of all races because He created them; we are all His children. He also does't care how much money you have because you can't take the gold with you to heaven.
Again, I apologize, and ask your forgiveness for them.
God bless.
