He makes me doubt because he has trouble being open with me about his past girlfriends. And I feel I have the right to know if he continues to be friends with them. For example, I asked him about a particular girl and he pleads that they had nothing, then a month later he tells me they were involved. What bothers me is that he fails to mention these things, yet keeps responding when they contact him.Do I not have a right to know these things, if we are pursuing a deep relationship? He is not a bad man but I feel that these secrets are deceptive. Is he justified in saying that it is in the past forget it, if he still has contact with them and "fails to mention it"? So basically I want to know is it ok to keep those kind of secrets in a relationship? Can I really trust him? Thanks.

if it was me i wouldnt personally be able to fully trust him because he is keeping certain things from me which are very important. OTHER GIRLS yeah a big deal especially ex-gfs. i would try explaining to him that this is bothering you because his past gfs may not have cared. How can you trust someone who is keeping things from you.

You totally have a right to know. If he has nothing to hide than there is no reason for him to hide the fact that he is talking to these girls. The only reason for him to hide anything is if he is doing something that would cross the boundries in your relationship. No he is not justified if he is not mentioning it. It is NOT OK to keep those kind of secrets! As far as I can tell he isn't very trustworthy! I somewhat have a simular problem. Is he letting these girls know that he now has a current girlfriend?

I think it could be like hey how you doing...If it continues and he starts acting weird about things or comes up with excuses about being late or whatever than i would be suspicious.
