I remember buying it when I was in my pre-teens or early teens at the neighbor store. It was a long twisted carmel covered in choc.(P.S. I'm 41)

I think it came out about '73. I used to love Marathon John, on the commercials.

The marathon candy bar came out around 1973 and stopped in 1981. Too bad it was a pretty good candy bar. Remember...."It lasts a long, long time."

I remember the marathon candy bar but I can't remember the year it was around.. I want to say sometime in the 80's was the last time I had one but I could have sworn I've seen it in a store recently... hmmm gonna have to go hunt one down now.

I loved those things! I especially remember it because i bought one when i was about nine at the theater and a loose tooth got stuck in the caramel and it pulled out. I'm 38 so that would have been about '77 in southern California.
