take a bible so full of inconsistencies and contridictions seriously?
it says one thing in one part and then says the complete oppisite in another. it does this over and over.
i am not saying it isn't a good book as a guide for morals but i don't believe it can be a book inspired by god with so many contridictions. or would god contridict himself?

The Bible neither contradicts in theology or history. When reading the Bible youre going to come across many things that SEEM contradictory but with greater understanding, a light bulb turns on inside. Bear in mind it was produced by more than 40 authors from various times and places. It does take a lot of prayer, and the Holy Spirit to understand; 2 things an unbeliever arent able to utilize to help them.

Btw, I didnt believe the Bible simply because I read it, I believed the Bible because I was at a point in my life where I was ready to start believing what God was trying to teach me!

The bible has an answer for this.

The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.
For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

Are you sure you aren't comparing old testament to new testament??

Because there will be contradictions.

The New Testament set up new laws that overwrite the old laws.

The New Jerusalem Bible doesn't contradict like the NIV, because it is older.

The NIV has lost alot through its 2000 years of translation.

There are no contradictions in the Bible; have you actually read it? The only way that there could be a contradiction is if the translation lost something, or if you are interpreting it incorrectly.

It is impossible to interpret the scriptures unless you are filled with the Holy Spirit. God does not allow you to understand because you are not one of His sheep.
