Because Hitler accomplished his goals. Ultimately we can't villianize everybody who has ever had ill intentions, but those who carry them out gain a certain notariety. Martin Luther succeeded in creating a rift between catholic and protestant (created protestantism really) but the exterminations that came from that were mostly of catholics and protestants killing each other, and not to the tune of six million. All Martin Luther really accomplished in this line was some name calling, and we don't really villify people for that.

Obviously because he did not like Jews. It is a paradox, isn't it? His Lord and Saviour is/was a Jew, but he hates all other Jews! Well, I have known lots of other Christians who felt the same, unfortunately. A lot of them hate the Jews because they rejected Christ and yelled "Crucify him!" to the Roman governor. Yet Jesus himself said he had come to die, so they thereby supposedly fulfilled God's plan. His final act in life was to ask his Father to forgive them, yet his followers seem unwilling to. Alas, who can figure out the perverse mind of Man?

Because back then, many Christians believed that it was the Jews that killed Christ, not really knowing the fact that Jesus actually was a Jew.
