If you are a smoking Christian you should stop (but I haven't). I have always heard smoking won't keep you from getting to Heaven, you'll just smell like Hell when you get there.

Not the smartest thing you can do. But its okay if you want to smoke. It is not a sin. God is far more concerned if you tell a little lie that He is about smoking a cigarette or drink a beer.
If you declare that you are a Christian and never smoke, then smoke--that's a sin, because it would be a lie. I smoked about a year after I became a Christian. I quit only because many people thought I was not serious about my Profession of faith. Some people have silly little ideas about what is sin and what is not. If my smoking would cause someone with weak faith to stumble, then I should not smoke. But it still is not a sin, and nothing is wrong with smoking. Its just not the healthiest thing you can do.

The Bible doesn't mention smoking. It says that the only way to sin against your body is to engage in sexual immorality. Therefore no one can say based upon the Bible that it is wrong to smoke a cigarette.
"Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18
That having been said, smoking is habit forming and if a person is controlled by a habit, whether it be smoking or watching soap operas and that habit interferes with them serving the Lord then they have to either gain control of it or give it up in Jesus' name.
"All things are lawful for me," but not all things are helpful. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be enslaved by anything. 1 Corinthians 6:12
If a person smokes and they can honestly say that it doesn't interfere with serving the Lord then they should also be careful about smoking around people who might think that it is a sin to smoke. It's like when the Apostle Paul told the believers in Corinth and Rome that even though it wasn't a sin to eat meat that had been sacrificed to an idol they should consider others in the faith who might think that it was a sin and refrain when they were around.
"Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God. Everything is indeed clean, but it is wrong for anyone to make another stumble by what he eats. It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that causes your brother to stumble. The faith that you have, keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who has no reason to pass judgment on himself for what he approves. But whoever has doubts is condemned if he eats, because the eating is not from faith. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin. Romans 14:20-23
So it is, as it is with all things that the Bible doesn't clearly teach about, an individual choice between a believer and God. That means that they should pray about it and be willing to quit if they sense that God wants whatever habit is in their lives to come to an end.

Smoking is indeed sinful activity because it violates 7 Biblical principles......
1. Chemical addiction - Smoking has chemicals in it that make it many more times addictive than heroine or cocaine. According to Jesus we cannot have anything else master over us but God. (Genesis 4:7, Matthew 6:24, Luke 16:13)
2. Bad for your health - If God created the human body which he called "good" (Genesis 1:31), why would you pollute it? If you got your kid a nice bike for his birthday, how would you feel if you later saw him leaving it lying around in the mud and rain and not taking care of it?
3. Setting a poor example for unbelievers - How can people glorify God by your example (Matthew 5:16, 1 Peter 2:12) when you are engaged in improper activity?
4. Setting a poor example for believers - How are we going to be mutually encouraged by each others faith if we are engaged in sin?! I am offended enough every time I smell someones 2nd hand smoke but to smell it coming from a believer?!?!?!?!!?
5. Setting a poor example for kids - But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. -Matthew 18:6
6. Using the resources God gave you for no good purpose - Smoking wastes money (Matthew 25:14), time, and your health. (things we can all use more of) Since God gave us resources, we need to use them to further the Kingdom, not live life the way we want.
7. Continuing in sin - Given the hundreds of times i have talked to smokers; deep down people know that it is wrong and is therefore SIN. If you continue to do that which you know is wrong you are allowing sin to rule your life.
Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me. -Psalm 199:133
For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace. -Romans 6:14

To a Christian the body is the Temple of God; therefore, by smoking you are hurting/destroying the temple. 2Cor. 6:16

It is not a sin to smoke. It will not send you to hell, you'll just smell like you been there. However we are the temple of God & we should not defile the body. Overeating defiles the body also.
I will not judge another for smoking.

Get an air filter and an ash tray, and a sincere hope that they will take better care of their health than they are presently doing.
Hoping the best for you...
