christians have one thing in common...themselves. vain, and snobby.
every church thinks they are better than the other, and yet they teach the exact same thing.
its like a popularity contest. stupid.
you go with what you feel is right. whatever brings you closer to God/Satan/Hell/Heaven...that is your choice, and your right.
i was born in the mormon faith, thought nothing of it, until i met a hindu. and i started to hang out with a catholic.
it was and still is very interesting. because everything i was taught, i was told we were the only ones that taught it, had it, gave it.
after a heavy discussion with this catholic, both of us found out that we were taught the same things. i felt jipped. lied to.
i started to look into hinduism, and found a lot of things i loved and i visited the krishna temple in utah and arizona, as often as i could.i felt so much peace, so much love there.
for the last 2 years i felt no love when i went to the mormon church. i felt condemned and no one ever spoke to me.
i prefer going to the hindu temple over going to my church. i dont even say 'my church' any more.
i am open - with faith. i have been watching:
www.lifechurch.tv
and the pastor has made so many wonderful statements about faith, and how we are not christians, but desciples of Christ.
he said the christians fight amongst themselves the most out of any religion. what is weird, is that it is true, sad.
i am engaged to a hindu, no regrets. we believe in the same God, and want the same things in life. family, respect, home, and God.
my son is not baptized right now, i dont feel that he is old enough to fully understand what is going on. i can only be an example, and when he gets older he will choose what religion HE wants to join.
whatever makes you feel safe, loved, secure, and happy. brings you faith, hope and charity...the way to Christ.
hindus believe in reincarnation also. i am learning that now...it is not what a lot of people think it is. i am understanding it all better, now that i am not in 'my church' any more. i am on my own, and studying several faiths/religions.
learning of the same 'faith', brings me closer to other individuals, and understand them clearer, and have discussions with them and share my views and learn from them also.
i hope i made sense. i have many thoughts, but it is hard to type them all out into 'words'. ha ha

Not all wiccans believe in reincarnation, you know. The rest, I agree with. I think it's fear. Wicca is threatening to Christianity because it's converting so many members without even trying. We don't try to "spread the word" but Christian members are so unhappy that they're looking for something else.
Because it's threatening, many Christians don't like it and decide to call it names with a very closed mind and almost no knowledge about it at all.

Hey I'm going to borrow a concept...
Christians "believe" in "reincarnation" too. When we ask Jesus Christ into our lives, we ask that of Him literally. His Holy Spirit indwells each Christian, and through each of us we live our lives with Him. We are parts of His Body.
Hey Christians - this means we are all actually living as parts of the same living Body. I may be a cell in the toe, and you a cell in the spine, or perhaps in the lungs. Not one cell is unnecessary, or just permitted to waste away. Get beyond the words, to the heart of Scripture.
Okay, back to your question. Christ says "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." (John 14:6) Anything, any concept, any teaching that takes your eyes off this truth from God, is not from Him. It is aimed at distracting you from your inheritance as a member of God's family. Your Heavenly Father wants to give you much more than you, or I or anyone, can think of. So wicca - not for God = against God. I'm not sure if Satan came up with it, but it sure supports his cause in keeping you from your inheritance.

I am a Christian. To be perfectly honest, we don't understand because it isn't what we believe. We see that there's no reason to understand a different religion because God doesn't want us to. He wants us to worship Him and Him alone.
Having said that, I respect the fact that you choose to be wiccan. I'm glad to hear that wiccans aren't satanic or anything like that. I didn't know that. But, it's what this country was founded on...the freedom to worship what and how you want.
Hope this has helped. Peace, love and happiness to ya!

I think a lot of them fear anything they don't understand or that can make them question their beliefs. A very good friend of mine was (still is as far as I know; they moved) Wiccan. She and her husband were two of the nicest people I'd ever known–a lot nicer than some of the Christians I know.

I think its the general assumption that wiccans=witch=evil=satan- but of course thats wrong, its just how I think people see the religion and their lack of knowledge about the fact that they are two different things that makes them lump the two together.

It's a common fundamentalist belief that anything that is not of God is of Satan, therefore, as the belief goes, since you are not worshiping the Christian god, you are worshiping Satan, whether you believe in it or not.
You can count me in as a Christian who does not think that way. I used to, and that is why I understand the dynamics.

because God works in mysterious concepts and who're you to question God what God does. when you consider that Abraham wasn't punished for marrying his 0.5-sister or commiting adultery, why might want to Lot be punished? see you later because this is in the bible, it would want to be an outstanding element. and there is the same passage in Judges, the position someone provides his concubine to the rapists and the concubine does get raped, and he wasn't punished even notwithstanding the concubine replaced into harmed, while Lot's daugters weren't harmed.

I don't know why, probably because of that misconception. I'm a Catholic, and we're taught to respect other religions, but still guide other Christians to strengthen their relationships with God. Which makes little sense, I think..

I personally believe it's all about the woman-bashing. Wicca is one of the few religions that empowers women. Can't have that though, can we?
