Cockatoos and large parrots can make it to 100...but most don't make it past 80, and some die when they're 60. It all totally depends on care and when you get it, and other stuff.

If by white cockatoo you mean the big umbrella cockatoo (of course also known as White cockatoo), they live a very long time. As to how long they actually do live, that depends on the care that they are provided. Given the proper care and proper nutritions, they could very well outlive you, if not at least just a long as you anyway.
The umbrella cockatoos are known to be the most 'rehomed cockatoo' out there simply because of the screaming issues and also plucking behaviour. their screams have been recorded at record breaking decibels equalling a little jet plane taking off. Basically very loud. Yes given that there are many 'quieter' cockatoo out there, I wouldn't ever say any of them 'quiet'.
I have a cockatoo, and I wouldn't give him up for anything in the world, but I definitely would not recommend it to anyone who hasn't got bird experiences. The time, money and effort to take care of these guys are astronomical! It's more then just the initial 'set up' fee... you have to remember the food they eat, the toys they constantly chew up, vet bills, cages and most of all your furnitures or other part of your house that need replacing because you cockatoo have destroyed it...
Beside you're still very young, and you have a whole life ahead of you. What would happen to the bird if you decide to go away for college, or that you decided that you want a social life, will the cockatoo be looked after?
I would recommend you do a whole lot of research on all sort of birds before deciding on one, and also think about what the future might hold for you in the sense that if you take on the responsibility of bird ownership, it's a commitment that youhave to keep to.

The longest lived cockatoo lived to be 120 years old. Most make it to about half that - about 30 to 50 years. They die due to malnutrition, disease and accidents. However, if there's few problems, your cockatoo could live to be 80 or so years! Most too's go through several homes. Second home birds can be wonderful companions and if you're willing to give them a shot, you can have a wonderful companion for many years.
Be warned that cockatoos are real snugglers and will scream their heads off to get attention. Their calls can rattle windows. Many people do learn to live with the noise and the demands. As one poster said above, they're just like feathered babies who want you around all the time ^.^ . I know many people who have cockatoos and they don't know what they'd do without their screaming, pooping, food flinging 'brats'!

i have a cockatoo and i had a macaw they tend to outlive most owners!!! only thing i find bad about cockatoos is that they CRAVE attention they are like lil babies that NEED to be loved and spoiled....and trust me they will squak at the worst times just to get your attention or just for pure enjoyment. they are super cool pets tho....most tend not to speak as well as others and if they do only the owners will understand half of what they say....but they are good around people and they love being center of attention.....all in all i love mine its like my own lil baby wit feathers!! LOL
they are def supa cool birds tho just make sure to spend lots of time with it they love to just hang on up lap and be petted while you watch tv....show it lots of love tho...hope that helps

do not get a bird! i have a bird! they are super annoying! it is also mean to keep them in a cage. if your going to keep your bird in a cage read this poem http://www.potw.org/archive/potw219.html if your not going to keep it in a cage and let it fly around your house it is very disgusting and annoying because it chews things up such as books, papers, anything you have around, and they poop everywhere (we keep our bird flying around the house) getting a bird is a pain in the butt! get a cat or dog!!!!!!!!!
