because that is love. you have good times, ups, downs, you hurt, you rebound, and you hurt some more. i guess that only if you are in love, true love that is, then it hurts a lot for many reasons! i guess that God intended us to go to hell and back again and suffer for the person we love, when we break up as well as that being a part of us forever that tells us that love can be broken, lost, and found again all through pain! pain is just weakness that many show while others do not and it is something that othesrs keep inside, and it hurts so much because you care about someone so bad,so much that it is a normal thing to feel is something bad happens! through pain you gain more love which leads to more wisdom and knowledge and us being reassured that love never fails.

If what you percieve as "love" hurts then it really isn't love. Dating, getting to know others and leaving them one way or another is always painful ,but that's part of the human experience and part of growing up and exposing your emotions to others leaves us vulnerable for pain. No one is above experiencing pain from "love". Jesus chose Judas as one of his discipiles and loved him as he loved the other apostles and in the end what happened to Jesus. His love was thrown away for 30 pieces of silver. Talk about LOVE HURTS.

Please read it carefully ...........
First lets know what love is........
WHAT IS LOVE....
What is love? When we claim that it's love that we have for someone, are we correct? Something to ponder upon.....
Are your palms sweaty, is your heart racing and is your voice caughtwithin your chest?
It isn't love, it's like.
You can't keep your eyes or hands off of them, am I right?
It isn't love, it's lust.
Are you proud, and eager to show them off?
It isn't love, it's luck.
Do you want them because you know they're there?
It isn't love, it's loneliness.
Are you there because it's what everyone wants?
It isn't love, it's loyalty.
Are you there because they kissed you, or held your hand?
It isn't love, it's low confidence.
Do you stay for their confessions of love, because you don't want to hurt them?
It isn't love, it's pity.
Do you belong to them because their sight makes your heart skip a beat?
It isn't love, it's infatuation.
Do you pardon their faults because you care about them?
It isn't love, it's friendship
Do you tell them every day they are the only one you think of?
It isn't love, it's a lie.
Are you willing to give all of your favourite things for their sake?
It isn't love, it's charity.
Does your heart ache and break when they're sad?
Then it's love.
Do you cry for their pain, even when they're strong?
Then it's love.
Do their eyes see your true heart, and touch your soul so deeply it hurts?
Then it's love.
Do you stay because a blinding, incomprehensible mix of pain and relation pulls you close and holds you there?
Then it's love.
Do you accept their faults because they're a part of who they are?
Then it's love.
Are you attracted to others, but stay with them faithfully without regret?
Then it's love.
Would you allow them to leave you , not because they want to but because they have to?
Then its love.
Would you give them your heart, your life, your death?
Then it's love.
Why do we Love.............................
If love is painful, and tortures us so, why do we love?
Why is it all we search for in life?
This pain, this agony?
Why is it all we long for?
This torture, this powerful death of self?
Why?
The answer is so simple because .....................It's LOVE.
Love is such an addiction that even people who are not having it wish to experience and share it with others.
Now, Urs answer...............................
Why does Love hurt so much?
It is just because "Falling in love makes a person most happy. But a break up also makes a person most unhappy. Human psychology has a tendency to develop negative feelings against something which has caused you unhappiness. The thoughts of your previous experience always dominate your present. Your mind would not allow you to touch fire if you have experienced that it burns. Thats how the mind treats something that caused you harm." and If a break up occurs in Love then It hurts too much.

It hurts because as humans our reach is always beyond our grasp...love qualifies...to quote the Goo Goo Dolls, we need to "bleed just to know you're alive".
