Yes there was sectarian violence in Iraq before the U.S. got involved there. The man called Sadam was killing the Kurds all the time.

Of course there was, but it was very one-sided because Saddam and his Sunnis had most of the guns, and all of the WMDs. If you don't think so, ask any Kurd, or the Shiites that lived in the "Southern Delta" (those that you can still find alive, that is). (I think for my next question here, I'm going to ask why there are so many anti-American Americans around. One answer that I will expect is that there are so many who have been brain-washed by our anti-American educational system.)

There was but basically Saddam kept it in check.
But we all know that he killed many people of different groups (The Kurds for instance)
