There is a superstition that perals are bad luck, but it is just silly. It says that for every pearl you wear on your wedding day, that is how many reasons your husband will give you to cry. My dress was COVERED in pearls and I wore a pearl necklace, but I'm still happily married!

I've never heard that pearls are bad luck to wear on your wedding day...if you look at all those bridal gown books and stuff, a lot of the models are wearing them. I'm planning on wearing some, and my dress has some too, but then I'm not superstitious anyway.

Many a bride wears pearls on her wedding day. Her's or a family heirloom. They are considered classic & elegant.

No never heard of such a thing, but my friend wore a beautiful pearl necklace and earrings for her wedding and they were more noticeable in her wedding photos than her sister's diamond necklace and earrings.

pearls have been worn for weddings for ages, bad luck only comes with ur mentality, wear them and smile. all the best !

Nope. Ive never heard that. I wore pearls and had the most beautiful wedding to the most wonderful man. Im sure everyone says that but I really did!

Pearls actually represent tears, its up to you to determine if they will be good or bad. As for bad luck...no. I agree with the fact of wearing them as earrings only.

No, in fact, my grandma told me that back in her day, the groom would give the bride a strand of pearls to wear on the wedding day.
