I just want some opinions on whether I should go to a predominately white hair salon and let them do my hair

I suggest you go to a black salon.

I wouldn't let that type of salon touch my hair. The reason being is that none of their hair cutters are licensed barbers. They cut hair on beautician licenses. I would recommend that you go to barber who is experienced with a black person's hair.

Find a black salon, you may be disappointed if you go to a mall salon.

Yes it matters were you go to get your hair done, simple salons do the same hair styles, you go to the ghetto they do what you won't to your hair

well I know some awesome "WHITE" hair stylists, didn't know skin colored made you good or bad. I would assume that if you are trained to do hair you can deal with all textures and kinds. I would just try until you find one that you like, it is trial and error. Good luck
