Wow...I had all mine out at the same time.

Mine were NOT impacted, nor were they growing into my sinus cavity.

I went in, sat in what looked like a dentists chair. They put in the IV, and the next thing I remember was laughing a lot and joking with my surgeon with a mouthful of gauze.

My mom drove me home. I had to keep biting down on the gauze to prevent bleeding, and I wasn't allowed to talk. I wasn't in any pain because the medication was still in me. I was out of it. I talked anyway because of the drugs, and of course started bleeding all over from the mouth.

No worries....the bleeding stopped, and I got home where I slept the rest of the day. I ate some soup that was too hot and burned myself without knowing it. I started taking pain meds before the surgery drugs wore off....so I never had any real pain.

My head was the shape of a triangle for about 4 days...my jaws were so puffy. It was very strange trying to chew with stitches in my gums....It was also really gross because after a couple weeks, I had these gaping HOLES where my teeth used to be....the holes would get food in them.

Since you have the problems that you do with the teeth in the sinuses, it could be much more complicated, but when you get a little older, you will be soooo happy you had those teeth pulled.

It is very easy. Just make sure you have someone to drive you and check on you frequently after the surgery.

Good luck!

I had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out at the same time by my dentist -- 3 were impacted and 2 had roots going into my sinus cavity. I don't remember anything because I was put out -- and I definitely recommend that you do the same. My jaw hurt afterwards because it was being held open for so long -- surgery took 4.5 hours. After 2 weeks had passed I didn't realize that anything at all had been done.

Good Luck, don't worry about it. I would call your insurance company and ask them who you should go to.

First of all , why does it matter about you insurance....maybe HMO....i'm not sure (used to work for an HMO.... UGH)anyways...the impacted part is bad......had all 4 cut out myself....at once.....felt no pain at all.....he used a IV to put me to sleep and then gave me a injection for the swelling this was back in '00.....best surgery EVER.....got Percodan and the rest.....GREAT SURGEON.....but if he is having doubts....then no wonder you are too....look into other doctors in the area....i'd call my insurance company and find out how much they will pay before anything starts.....the TEETH really need to come out.....growing into the sinus cavity is not good .....ASK your doctor why he does'nt like to MESS....that a bad word....with those teeth.....if he can't deal with the surgery your better off with another doctor....but i understand if he is the only one that will accept your insurance.....it a B---H sometimes .....can we all say NATIONAL HEALTH CARE!!!

i wouldnt worry about it to much, ask for a gen anesthesia, tell them you want to be put under. ive had mine pulled both ways, awake and asleep, by far being awake was the worst for me. best of luck to you, and ps, tell ur dentist to shove it, sounds like hes being an over bearing, money hungry pig.

you must go to an oral surgeon to have those removed..they will put you to sleep...you won't feel a thing...a regular dds normally will not remove wisdom teeth because of the roots..your dds can refer to to a good oral surgeon.
