I absolutely love it, though I hate Dana White 'cause he is a ******** on the Ultimate Fighter. If I had not moved to the damn woods with no one to teach me martial arts, and continued with my Shaolin training, I would totally have tried to go to Randy Couture's camp to learn MMA and then into small venues, and hopefully the UFC.
First: Do you love the UFC? Second: You think 18 is too young to start MMA?

They are some of the best and most conditioned fighters in the world. Whether you like it or not, you should give the fighters respect.

I watch it loyaly and I enjoy it for the most part. However there are times when I find it boring and bruitish. I mean that there are fighters with no reall Martial arts skill but who wrestled in school and after fighting in small MMA contest they got a shot at the UFC and all they can do is tackle a guy and ground and pound. Sean Sherk, Matt Hughs etc... But they can make a gret fight and look good but others like that are sloppy and are just brawlers. Then you have the Georges St Pierres and the Bj Penns or even Kenny Florian who regardless of winning or loosing will always have a good style and put up a great fight.
In other words a fight between GSP and Anderson Silva would be great but a fight between Matt Hughs and Sean Sherk would be a wrestling match with punches.
If you want to see Kata and traditional techniques only go to a Karate or Judo tournament but UFC is freestyle fighting.
Traditional arts fans have a mind set of what the art should look like. Even in traditonal style tournaments some people say who cares if he won his technique wasn't as good.
Then alot of people only watch movies and think Bruce Lee or Steven Segal fight seens are what fighting really is.
I like Pepsi you like coke. Watch it love it forget them

Wow, I dont think so. This is a very tough card. Bisbing and Evans will be very phsical. They are both very strong and have absolutly amazing records. And Thiago Silva vs. Houston Alexander. With such a great striker like Houston this could be a beating or a brawl. He just like to beat the sh*t out of people. As for Thiago he has the better record so that will be a fight to watch. And Ed Herman vs. Doerksen will be a great fight. I'm pretty sure that Herman was on the Ultimate Fighter of TUF 2 or 3. And this guy Spencer Fisher is a bad a**. He is fighting Frank Edgar who has a good record. Spencer was getting killed in a fight into the 3rd round and came back to KO this guy. It was tight so this is a deffinate buy.

hmmmmm.......anyone else think hood_12 got his azz beat by an "idiot bjj kid"?
my family is a huge fan of mixed martials arts including--pride, k1, kotk, ufc. etc.
no 18 is not too young to start, i'd say a fighter is in his prime between 28-32....i mean you can still have an active role in fighting, but it starts to taper off after about 35, most of the world is not randy couture compatible. the younger you start the more experience and knowledge you will gain and the better you will become. plus at 18, not being married with kids you have a ton of extra time (school aside) to dedicate to it if you so choose utilze it that way, but still manage to have a social life.
good luck!

Love it!
It's awesome to see two guys get into the octagon and try to beat the crap outta each other, and as soon as the fight is over (most of the time, except for Team Punishment) they got nothing but respect for each other.
A lot of us could probably learn from the likes of Chuck Liddell / Randy Couture / Matt Hughes. Talk about soft spoken respectful people...............that can kick some major @ss.
And nope, if you enjoy what you do. Go for it!

First... I am starting to HATE the ufc because it breeds idiot BJJ kids who think thats the only art worth learning... lets see you take 2 people at once. The UFC is entertainment... pure and simple.... its a controled enviroment where people are under strict rules for the fight. Its basicly boxing with lighter wieght gloves, and kicks are allowed... so K1 but with some groovy new twists.
Second... No 18 is not too young... if you want to get the piss beat out of you at 16, thats your rents choice.... have them sign off for ya.

No, I don't watch it. There's more to the martial arts than UFC, and I would rather practice it than watch it.

I like the PrideFC stable of fighters better.
18 is not too young...most fighters have been practicing jujuitsu or judo or a striking form from young age.
