Ok, I don't know any other way to answer this and not sound stupid. I work as a legal specialist all week. I get home exhausted and drained from the people I absolutely cannot help, for whatever reason. My Carpe Diem has always been about life, whether helping people or taking care of myself. Believe it or not I go on Yahoo Answers as one part of my "sieze the day" I try to take what knowledge I have and pass it on (pay it forward so to speak). You have the weekend and lots of homework, try and balance the two, even if you only take a couple hours off the homework, go to the local store and buy all the comfort stuff you had as a kid. YoYo, your favorite candy. Or best of all, think of someone you have not talked to in awhile and call them. You might be amazed.

You ever take road trips to see the country? You're right near some pretty amazing stuff. Go take a long weekend and drive out to Yosemite or Death Valley or something, or take a week and drive somewhere cool. I took one random road trip in college, and then I liked it so much I went on three more in my last year. It's great because you get to do something unique with your friends, see some cool country side, and maybe help you focus on what's important in life - because what the meaning of life is depends entirely on you, and it sounds like you need to get away from your surfer town (I was there once, it was ok but I would get sick of it too) and clear your head some.

Well it seems to me that you are as lost as every one else in the universe.
So carpe Diem any way you want.
You are so blind that you can't even see sitting outside do nothing but relaxing for entire day, is really seizing a day.
It may just be that I am in a bad mood, that my words seem valor, or it may be that I am sick of people that think smoking pot, and going to work and just having fun in life is seizing a day.
(Shakes head in disgust)

You could try setting a goal for each day, like "today I will start a conversation with someone I normally wouldn't talk to" or "today I will eat that sushi I've been afraid to try".
When I do this, I usually feel accomplished. Like I've seized the day and made it special, even thought what I did was something small and maybe trivial.

Learn to be grateful! Appreciate the life you have. Say "Thank you" to God if you believe, and to others around you. Seize every moment you have as a treasured gift!
Be excited about who you are! This is how you live live to the fullest, not climbing mountains or vacations on the beach.

Go to a marina and offer to help people sail there boats.
Ride a bicycle to a park, then play frisbee. others will join in.
Take a walk and choose a type of object to focus on, circles, triangles, blobs.
See how many red things are outside.
Count the number of steps to the store. then do the square root of that number and walk North.
