i had highlights before and my natural hair started to grow in...i wanted to even it all out and tried to go a little darker. (dark beige blonde) but the bottom turned out a weird light color and the top was a dark strawberry blonde color. i tried to color it again using light golden brown and the bottom turned out nice but the roots still have a reddish tint to it. i was wondering if anyone knew how i could get rid of the reddish tint?

Some blonde tones have both blonde and red tints.

Sally's Beauty Supply sells 'drabbers' which basically blocks the undesired tint. So if you're coloring your hair with a Golden Blonde color, a red drabber would block the reddish undertone and only let the blonde thru. Unfortunately, the drabber is added to the hair color mixture, so it means coloring your roots again.

I strongly recommend you wait at least 3 days before recoloring your roots, otherwise you may get peroxide burn.

Another tip: Since you're only wanting to color the roots, I use a permanent marker and divide the cream base and the color into havles or thirds. Then I use a clean empty butter container and mix it together (using the plastic gloves of course). This way I can get two or three root touchups from one box of hair color. In this case, you'd also divide the drabber.

Good luck.

So your looking at blonde right?

Well, i use this and my hair has a light blondish tint and i used this stuff, it may sound gross but it works. No one would really see it.

Buy Sun In at a store, hair store
Get olive oil
lemon juice

get a container and pour in 1 quarter cup of sun in in to the cup.
pour in half a cup of olive oil
mix well
Add 40 squeezes of lemon juice in it.
Mix and let sit for a couple of hours
Go to the beach or where there is a lot of sun. Put some all over your hair doesn't matter if it gets on your head/skull and let it sit in your hair for about an hour to 2 hours. IT REALLY WORKS!!

If you're doing home coloring then go for colors with the word "ash" in it. Such as Light Ash Blonde or Dark Ash Blonde. Those colors tend to stay away from reddish tones. This is from my experience. Hope it helps.

personally i would go to my hair stylist and have her touch it up, but i have also heard that lemon juise helps. there are also some special shampoos that are supposed to bring out blonde...red...brunette depending on what your desired color is.

Well. I would say go to a salon and see what they can do about it. You could dye all of your hair one color.
