Why do teen girls have to be so skinny? Is it Because of no guys want to go out with a girl that is not skinny or not fat because it seems like all they want is a skinny girl... Please tell me why u think girls have to be skinny in the public eye...

I dont believe that - Ive known of lots of girls who are kinda big and they manage to have lots of boyfriends - so while SOME guys may really like only super skinny girls its not all of them.

because this society is so photogenic-based, evryone wants to be pretty and be a star, all of the models and moviestars are so skinny or try to be, and they are surrounded by guys, and that leads to belief that you have to be skinny to get a guy... the guys are always in competition of who has the best games, cars, and now girls are thought of an item. It is sooo not true tho, for people that think it is.... i hope you dont feel all self concious because of that belief...and remember, a good boyfriend is someone who doesnt care what you look like(its ok if they think youre prettty) and just likes you because of your personality!

I personally think it is because a large majority of famos females are skinny. And everyone thinks that you have to be skinny to be perfect. I am not overweight but could stand to loose maybe 10 to 15 pounds. I've tried not to let the fact that guys like girls who have tight tummys. If they don't accept you for who you are then you don't need to be around them.

because everywhere magazines and movies and hollywood stars all publisize the fact that being skinny is a great way to get a guy and how to look. all the famous female stars are skinny and are labeled beautiful and that is what lots of girls want. we are sold on the stupid fact that skinny is beautiful rather than it's just healthier.

Although beauty is in the eye of the beholder, most of the beholders like skinny women. The media has a lot to do with that. But personally to me, everyone is beautiful in their own way.

It just depends on the guy. I was kinda heavier in HS and had a hard time finding boy friends. I don't know if it was because of weight or just because I didn't put my self out there as much as the other girls did. I'm glad I waited cause I found a man that loves me for me and don't care about weight!

i don't like super skinny girls. i like it when they're just right. fat girls and skinny girls get boyfriends at my school. everyones friends with everyone.

it's because we see all these models, celebrities, etc, being skinny and it definitely affects some people. guys will out with any kinda girl, it depends on your personality. but i guess some people just want to 'look' good for other people, to impress them.
