Not me. It would be a lot like a graven image in my mind.

There is one thing you can be sure, the paintings in the 15th through the 17th centuries is not Jesus. The oldest replica was in the 200's AD. This was a sculpture of the head showing short hair, etc. There is no true likeness of Jesus in the world today. This was my thesis and I dug deeply throughout the world for information.

Yeah, I've wondered this myself. Noboy really knows (obviously) what Jesus looked like, but I'm pretty sure that he looks nothing like we think of him. Everyone sees him as this gentle, soft, feminine character. He was a carpenter for gosh sakes! I imagine him with callused hands, a scruffy face, matted hair, and the most beautiful eyes. He was probably a pretty homely looking because of where he lived, and hygiene was not a big issue way back when. I think that The Passion really captures him pretty good. Not exactly what I see in my mind, but the closest I've ever seen. Good question!!!! Props.

I have two prints, one painting of him as a grown-up, and one lovely nativity scene where Joseph is holding him as a baby.
the baby one probably has the best chances of being close to how he looked because all babies are basically cute and relatively hairless.
The grown up one, yeah, I don't really know if that's what he looks like, although it does show him with brown hair and pretty tan skin, but that doesn't realy matter to me. It's a lovely painting, and it's a simple reminder, that's all.

I have a Jesus picture in my house (it was my grandmas who was very religious.) I don't believe that's the actual picture of Jesus of course. For one he is depicted in the picture as white when in reality Jesus was middle eastern which includes Assyrian, Arabian, African (any other countries and stuff over there......) It kind of scares me though.....it's not mean looking it's just I don't like things staring at me out of pictures especially Jesus.....I already know he's watching me but come on......

I am not Christian and dont have pictures of Jesus ...not that i would mind one though
but i dont think it matters how he is portrayed by an artist
what matters is that the christian person can relate to the portrayal as Jesus

It really does not matter if the picture is accurate but if the sentiment is. The pictures and the Crucifixes in my home are there to remind me of Him. Nothing more.

I have many pictures of Jesus in my home. I guess that was how people saw Him when He was on Earth.
