Debra, you have way too much free time on your hands... Why not do something useful with your time, or enriching to others lives like serving food to the homeless... or getting them into shelters or something...
Stuff like that are great ways to enhance your spirituality by enriching other peoples lives.
Noby ever meets everyone in the world... its too huge of a place, and consider this... More people on the planet don't own a computer than those who do... imagine how many others you'd meet if you actually stepped out into the real world?

How about billions? You need people to enrich your life, but you cannot possibly meet all those who can enrich you, nor would you be able to communicate with most of them if you could. Be grateful for what you have, not sadness for what you don't have--especially if you have God. The rest will fall into place.

Only thousands?
There are BILLIONS of people you will never meet. I guess in an academic sense this is sad, but if you spent all your time meeting new people, you'd have no time left to develop relationships with the people you know, which is what makes knowing those people enjoyable to begin with.
It's just costs vs benefits. You've got limited time on earth, so you can spend it continuously exposing yourself to as many new people, places and things as possible, or you can pick and choose the people, places and things you find most rewarding, and focus on them.
Most people strike a balance between the two, although it's probably safe to say that collectively we should try to break out of our routines more often than most of us do.
Variety is the spice of life!

Your perspective is slighty myopic, Debra, as there are billions upon billions of people we will never meet. Thousands die every day, for God's sake, and if what Jesus said about the narrow gate- and how few will enter- then heaven doesn't seem like the place where we'll be reuniting with all those billions of lost souls.

Pardon my present short sightedness, but the way I look at it is this. There are many people that I will never meet in this life. My gift to anybody, is that I would give my life to purify the gospel, to the point, that I would leave the destiny of my soul up to God (even if that means hell for me) come Judgment Day, if I can get two or more souls, maybe even my enemy(ies), from hell to heaven.
Peace Be With You

Yes. I love meeting people on the internet. Some are wonderful and nice, others understand, and some that we can be friends with. Too bad we do not meet them!
The jerks on the internet I DO NOT want to meet.

I have had elderly people ask me or say in random "Why am I still here? Why am I still alive?" My answer "So I could have the privilege of knowing you" And I really believe that is one of the reasons they are still alive.. We cannot meet all of people in the world but just feel fortunate to have met the ones you have met. Smile.

It is like that for every generation that comes along we may not get to meet people who will uplift you. But make sure that the ones you do meet, you leave an amazing impression of your personality for them

Most people only get to KNOW only a few hundred or a few thousand people. That leaves nearly 6 billion people we will never know.
