Hi all, I have a beautiful white knitted baby rug that my mother hand knitted. She made my sisters and I the same and its been used and used and washed and washed,. 3 grown boys later its in perfect condition and I hate to see it folded up in my cupboard. Besides a throw rug has anyone got ideas on what I could do with it, I dont mind it being cut up to be used for something crafty aslong as it can be kept.

Save it for your first granddaughter, drape it over the top of a rocking chair. DON'T cut it up, don't toss it. There will be a baby in your family sooner or later, and then you will find something to do with it. Perhaps it will be grandma's special blanket that everyone gets to use when they visit??

well you blew my answer when you said grown boys-i was going to say give it to one of your kids or teach them how to crochet. my mom crocheted like crazy, but the best thing she gave to me was teaching ME how to crochet!!!
use it as a rug, or on the bed, or take it apart and make something else out of it.
my mom made this one blanket(i think she was depressed at the time) that she just kept crocheting, and it was big enough to tarp a house with!!!!
i took it apart, or at least some of it, and i had yarn forever!!!! i'm serious, it had to measure at least 30 feet or more square!!!!
good luck!!!

the others had good answers, i would save it for the grandkids, maybe you'll have a granddaughter, and you can teach HER to crochet!!!! or knit!!! i can't knit, my mom did, tried to teach me-i ended up making a scarf for a giraffe!!!!!!

Well depending on the size, you could have it mounted or heirloomed to be passed down later on.

I agree, don't cut up, save for the grandkids, or frame them.

find a frame that will fit most of it and frame and hang it somewhere that you feel is a good place.. i have my children's baby blankets framed and it keeps them safe and i enjoy them alot.
