If a persons parents came here illegaly, one should not be ashamed, specially if eventually they became citizens and great Americans. That kind of humor might be funny, but at some point it gets old and insulting. Do not listen to them for there are many intolerant persons in this great Nation. Be proud of you Mom, Proud of your roots, and Proud to be an American, no one can take that away from you.

Ya....well.....my husbands Polish and his family has been here for generations......he can probably tell you every Polish joke ever written.....I'm blonde and heard all the blonde jokes.......some are actually funny and at times unfortunatly true when you see some examples of famous blonde women. It's a joke......some are insensitive but then there's some that are just jokes. We're funny.........if we can't laugh sometimes......what's the point? We ALL get the jokes....whether it be PMS because your a woman, or that you're red headed with a temper, or Irish and drinking........I got one.......
There was Chiropractor and a Medical Doctor in the restroom. After they were done the Medical Doctor washed his hands, but the Chiropractor didn't. Random people on the street talk crap like that to you? What buttheads.
Starting jerking them around and telling them you swam here. Or that you came in an inflatable raft. Then start making up stories about real Cuban men...
And if they keep up with the insulting jokes, just say, "yeah, I've only heard that one about 19,000 times. Only I heard it about (insert their race)."

Honey, that's not a Cuban joke, they just want be be funny and trying to denigrate you and your family. Please don't let any body denigrate you, be proud of what you are. If these people want to be your friend, well first they have to show you respect before anything else. If a person don't respected you, How could you let him or her be your friend? Do you treat them that way? I don't think so. Please tell them that if they can't respect your heritage or back ground they could not enjoy your friendship. Be proud!!!

It is nothing new from "them". "They" are always calling Mexicans names too.... just dont listen to them... they are the ones getting gray hair on their heads for worrying too much about others.. and dont be ashamed of who you are.... show "them" that you are a proud Cubana!:)
