You can actually make your own egg nog anytime of the year.
6 Eggs
2 tsp. Nutmeg
4 cups Milk
3/4 cup Sugar
1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla extract
Mix them all together and voila! Egg Nog!
If you're old enough, maybe some Rum.

When I was in the restaurant business, I was chef for 20 yrs, I asked a dairy industry friend, and his retort was, that the demand from the public is seasonal as the one respondant said, also they can only run it in a limited amount because of the process needed to make it, and that is why depending on the variety you buy, there are so many differences, sweetness, egginess, rum or other flavour content, creaminess and thickness, I prefer the premium brand, here in Canada, we have a brand from a grocery store, you could freeze as is to make ice cream that is how rich and thick it is.

I agree!! I LOVE eggnog!!! I have tried making it myself and it just didnt turn out the same. I am craving it already! This year I am going to make some eggnog fudge as a gift and give it to family.
