Keeper of the Green - Interesting answer that would be quite an upset even as great as Carbajal was.

Brent ~
In my opinion, Michael loved to brawl just a little too much. Look at his fights against Gonzales, his face was shredded to ribbons. He would often watch hours upon hours of tape on his hero Roberto Duran and try to copy his style, there was only one problem with this, it was ROBERTO DURANS style and not Michael Carbajals.
Ricardo Lopez was a far better boxer than Michael, more of a pure boxer puncher. I don't think that he would get caught up in the moment and sit there and bang it out with Michael, although anything "Little Hands of Stone" brought to the table Ricardo would have an answer.
I think that both of these fighters were equal in power with a slight edge tilting towards Carbajal but in the Flyweight division it's more about throwing punches in bunches and Mike's wide looping shots would play right into the much straighter punches of "El Finito". This would be a war from the opening bell both fighters would show why they are the best in the division. Michael would cut above both eyes and the referee would stop this contest due to cuts caused by punches in the tenth round.
Thanks Brent for yet another outstanding question.

Hey Brent! Another great question there sir. Ricardo Lopez finished with a career record of 51-0-1 and could do it all! He would have to be ranked high on a list of all time great fighters. Carbajal was also an oustanding warrior who came to fight with good boxing skills and a tough chin too. I don't believe that Lopez would have an easy fight with Carbajal but would land a higher volume of punches and the harder punches to during this bout. Carbajal is tough and would withstand a lot of punishment but the referee would stop the fight in the 11th round with Lopez being declared the winner.
